Will be buying a new track bar within the next few days, looking for what people have to say about them, choices are....

 

JKS adjustable $200

Motion Offroad $120

RE $165

and the dreaded Rusty's, which i haven't had troubles with an know people who have liked them, but anyway $129

 

Money is a little tight, but i'm slowly transferring over to stronger, better built parts. :cheers:

I highly recommend if your wanting to "upgrade" to go with something that mounts the upper mount in a double sheer setup. Also get something with a new upper bracket as the factory one just does not cut it.

 

Out of all the one's you posted above, none of them do that. The RE one I'm assuming is the RE1600 which is total junk (heim sucks on them).

 

I'd really consider the Rock Krawler one. Made of SOLID stock, comes with a new heavy duty mount, and a lifetime warranty. Retails for $200 but can be had for less ($179).

I would vote for the RE with the bracket, or TNT with the bracket. JKS is ok, but the frame side mounting point is less that ideal. I have one, and its constantly working loose.

Get the RE heavy duty double shear model, you won't be sorry. I had a Currie track bar (very similar to JKS bar) and was very unhappy with it, without the double shear, I kept having it move a little bit without the extra support, this movement would break the tapered adapter and cause some bad DW.

Tho the TNT moves the track bar pivot point forward, compared to the RE,

and allows more room for the axle to move forward when compressing the suspension, without hitting the bracket.

 

 

I had an RE bracket + bar, then modified the RE bar to take the TNT bracket (re-bend the bar, and drilled out the joint for a bigger bolt).

The only track bar I have experience with (besides stock) came from MO, and the heim went bad on it after just over a year.

KEVINS OFFROAD has JKS make them a TBar with a WJ style end, then they mdify the factory bracket to fit. Its got all the best of JKS and none of the bad.. I have it on my MJ and LOVE IT!!!

My vote goes for the Iron Rock Offroad double shear for $189... I have the RE track bar with the TRE style bolt and it sucks, it creaks all the time and I can't for the life of me keep it tight enough... So no matter what definetly go with the double sheer design...

OK, not cheap, but what I'm going to replace my Rubicon Express with the Drop Bracket (that I hate, and limits my up travel since my tie rod contact on big stuff on the driver side) put on my TJ...Lists as MJ compatible

I have this one on MY TJ. Its been great! I'm not so thrilled about the singles share of the upper mount, but the body is beefier and grade 8 as well.. Solved allot of little "quirks" that I had with the Skyjacker bar I had before.

Thanks CW... how long have you had that... I have it from pretty solid authority from someone fairly close to the Currie's that they have made some updates to their HD TrackBar just in the past 6 months or so.

You can see one change with the gusseting on yours and not on mine... Curie is a company that doesn't sit on there laurels. It doesn't surprise me they have made advances across there line.

And i'm guessing all these bars with relocation brackets are welded on?

 

The RE Track Bar Drop Bracket on my TJ is a Bolt on ....not sure if it's the same for MJ's or not.

Both the T&T, and the RE brackets bolted on.

 

Rusty's, RockKrawler, and pretty much every other XJ/MJ track bar bracket I've seen also seems to bolt on (as does the factory bracket).

If your interested, I have the Currie bar that CW has on his TJ for sale, I upgraded to the double shear setup. It will come with a brand new Johnny Joint. I only ran it for 1/2 a season. PM me if interested.
