Say, does anyone know where this clip goes? It's right by the master cylinder. It's not very long at all. It has a yellow/black wire and a violet/white wire. It seems to be all apart of the harness going into the cab. Where it goes from there is beyond me but before I go crawling under there, perhaps someone here could shine some light onto this for me.

See pics here:

it's for the "low washer fluid" light that came with the uber-rare Sentry module on some XJ's (maybe some MJ's too but I've never seen one before).

I think....

mjeff is right.... it doesn't have to have the sentry though, some just have a low washer fluid light in the panel with the brake, seatbelt and 4x4 lights...

It is indeed for the low washer sensor however, it wasn't solely related to the sentry system. Different trim packages had it and the low fluid indicator is located right beside the check engine light on the warning light cluster. The XJ donor I used had it so I'll be able to hook up the sensor from my 97+ washer tank. It's power source comes from, of all places, the radio fuse.

Yep. When I installed the 97+ XJ washer bottle mod, I extended the connector and plugged it into the new XJ tank inside the fender well; works great. Really a "must have" indicator since you can't see the washer tank anymore.

Yeah, I know Wade. That's my dog Gus the Cocker, and he's really gone over the edge since I had him neutered. He's not only attacking coyotes three times his size, swimming out in the lake and bagging the Canadian geese from underwater, now he's sneaking smokes. I caught him at it in the backyard, snapped a pic, and since he constantly stares at my monitor while I'm on CC (he's an MJ lover too), I figured if he sees his disgusting image as my avatar, he might change his ways. It's not working so far..........he's still smoking. I think he's getting his cigarettes from my neighbor. :chillin:

I tried to get the wires from this connector and failed. Can anyone let me know how to connect the wires to make the dash light work?

...and yes, I have the correct resevoir.

These connectors get really corroded, so clean the two contacts up real good with contact cleaner. The tank low level float is a NO switch, so short the two connector pins together and it should illuminate your cluster indicator bulb w. the IGN ON. If I remember correctly I had to install a new bulb in the cluster indicator panel; there wasn't a bulb there.

Yeah where do you get those bulbs?? I've never seen them before.

I will try shorting them out and see what happens.

Thanks!
