JeepcoMJ
on sunday I replaced a motor mount on my room mate's jeep, did an oil change, rear brake hardware (still need to replace the prop valve and lines), and then I.... did a compression check on my wheeler to verify the head gasket is good, threw on the 35" mickey thompson MTZ's that I got in trade for some work on an '82 vette, and did an oil change and coolant change, then put the fluids in clear jugs to see if anything seperates. I'm paranoid and thought it had a bad head gasket...with 163psi across the board, I don't think that's what could be wrong. tires/rims...
JeepcoMJ
thanks that sounds like a good plan ill try that tomorrow K. mvusse
Pulled passenger side CV shaft, found out all three bolts holding the unit bearing had backed out 1/8" allowing it to flop around. Drove fine, though. Installed Spicer 5-760x joint in junk yard axle shaft and installed. Tightened up unit bearing, pulled 35" play tires and installed 33" street tires. DW! Gonna rotate tires tomorrow, weather permitting.

dasbulliwagen
CW CW. I was wanting to run those rims on my manche too! i thought they only come in 5x5 BP. how did you get them to work for you? Thanks Devin I'm sure those are TJ rubi rims, the TJ has the 5x4.5 bolt pattern, youre thinking of the JK rubi rims with the 5x5 bolt pattern. CWLONGSHOT
Dasbulliwagen, is correct!! Mine are 2006 Ruby rims, 5 on 4.5 x 16" cast painted. I swapped the starter and put on some new battery cable ends on. CW
freakjeep93
i got that spacer off finally. it took me heating it up with a propane torch and beating a cold chisel under the botton edges of the bolt holes for it to come off. its not threade it had just corrided itself on to the bolts

JeepcoMJ
Today I killed another one...the 91 sport 4.0 auto that rob and I picked up a couple weekends ago. Got $290 for it, saved every comanche specific part, including tank, sender, and wiring and sensors. It had a good run and it was time to pass

mvusse
Checked front suspension, rotated tires, DW is still there. Gonna try my stock tires tomorrow (weather permitting). I think the 3.75" backspacing on the 15x10s just puts them out too far. Anybody wants to trade a set of rusty banged up 15x10 street locks for a set of any 15x10s with 5" backspacing? How about 15x8 with 4" BS?
Wildman
Started on replacing the right front D30 U-joint.........and one thing lead to another, and ended up putting on both U-joints.......and front pads.......and new rotors......and new calipers......and new soft lines.........and even got to replace one of the hard lines that broke off from rust :headpop: Other wise.......typical Jeep :wrench: day
CWLONGSHOT
My fifth tire, (spare) arrived and I washed the MJ. I went wheeling with the TJ in new Hampshire with my local club JONFUND. I have about 40 clips... Only a couple of me. I still have about 25 to load as of 10PM so check a couple times. Some nice obstacles!! There was one steep rock face, I didn't do as it isn't SWB friendly. (quite a few rollovers there when traction is lost and the front locker locates gravity.  But XJ's do OK if the driver is a good one. the 120" of MJ WB would have made it nearly a cake walk!! Other then that, I made one tough climb right at the end where all other 93" WB's took a tug or a cable...But not me!! photobucket USERNAME: brianjonfund PASSWORD: jeeper http://www.youtube.com/my_videos?pi=0 CW
CWLONGSHOT
I have been chasing a electrical gremlin for a couple weeks... If the MJ sat for more than a couple days she wouldn't start. But will start with a jump. Occasionally if started and turned off in close succession it will turn over two to six times then stop. No click no start. But all lights, horn and radio work fine. After the jump the alt checks to be delivering just over 14V at idle. So the alt is fine. Pop found the neg cable clamp wasn't tight. I suspected the starter solenoid. I had a spare starter so I threw it in and changed the cable ends to new style "lead-less" connectors. Seems that was it as its been perfect for the past two days... Idle is perfect and smooth. It starts better and hasn't discharged since. I guess between the cable clamps and the starter solenoid I also checked the clamps on the exhaust... cause I herd a little rattle on the way to work this AM. Found my mid hanger was loose. While under there I threw a couple 1" welds on three sides of each joint from the 2.25-2.5 adapter at the cat to the turn down at the rear bumper.
