bilgamesh
The Comanche has an interior light on each side of the cab near the window frame. They articulate up and down to turn on the light. One of mine does not work because the little bearing attached to the lens is missing, and provides no contact for the current. Are these lenses proprietary to the Comanche, or are there donor vehicles where I might get one? Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Bill
BLHTAZ
There are no sources left for the factory lights. I have never seen one the does what you are describing with the "articulating" thing... :hmm: Mine were just fixed lights that didn't work anymore. Here's what I did... bilgamesh
Thanks for the info; that is a nice fix. However, I am not entirely clear on what you had to do with the dremel tool. I would appreciate it if you would expand on that. Thanks, Bill

Mine have three positions. Something like this -> Center - Off, Bottom - On, Top - On when door is open. Did yours not have this?

Bill...the dremel was just to expand the hole for the new light to fit properly as it was a little bigger than the old one ;)

One works; the other one does not...yet.
Cheech
The interior lights in my '86 are like this too (they have three positions). Maybe these lights were only common to the earlier models.
flint54
Here is a potential source for the interior lights: http://www.infiniteinnovations.com/main.asp?p=4_179 Look at the fourth one down. Not factory, not chrome, but appears to be essentially same.

maddzz1
I have an 89 and mine also had the 3 positions. They never lit up in the truck so I didnt notice until I was shipping them out to some people who needed them so I didnt get to see what each position actually did. J B Cuz
The three positions for these lights are; Centered is turned off. Rocked one way turns only this light on (black wire). Rock the other way and the light turns on and off with the door switch near the hinge (black wire white trace) J B Cuz
james750
also, in the down position as well as on with the door open, it will also come on when you turn the headlight switch to the clicked far left position. ;)
