What is your DREAM job?

I have enjoyed reading the five random facts about yourself thread, so I thought to go one step further.

What would be your dream job or could your dream job be associated with your current job? :dunno:

Or have you already achieved your dream job, just let us know.

I know winning the lottery and retire would be a dream job for most of us. But a want the truth and be honest. :smart:

My dream job is associated with my current one, in fact I have already achieved my first dream job when I was a wee lad :clapping: is driving a semi truck.

So I guess that my second dream job with this one is driving truck for a racecar team.

To own a nice piece of property in the mountains near a good off raoding area with some cabins to rent to Jeepers, a big shop to work on the Jeeps that we would have built to rent out to folks that want to come, but can't bring their own.

Dream job is being handed to me in about 4 months...Aircraft Mechanic in the Military...as I will be an AM (Aircraft Structural Mechanic) in the Navy :D :USAflag: :USAflag:

I'm SOOOO jealous of you. I was signed up to do that in the Navy, went in, and then got an enlistment of error discharge all because I was an Idiot for asking why I have a tremor in my hands. :wall:

Keep your mouth shut till after your six months so you can get benefits. My stay was for four months. :thwak:

Oh well.

I like to think I currently have mine. I am training to fly/fight the F-15E Strike Eagle, or Mudhen, if you prefer. Getting paid to fly around and drop large, heavy, explosive things on those un-savory characters who wish to do my country harm. I have always loved flight, most of my toys were airplanes, I even had the Desert Shield/Storm trading cards.

Sometime in the future when I am too old to be doing mach 3 with my hair on fire, I would love to open a jeep shop. But right now and for the next 20yrs or so I do not see myself doing anything else.

Had it.. kinda..

For about 6 months I worked at a small family owned computer shop. I was the tech. I fixed it. I built it. I worked on it. Computers.. Could have 6 at a time on my bench.. I could roll from one end to the other.. just Fix them and send them out.

Owner was a friend of mine. I was not paid to be there. I just loved it and enjoyed what I did. Had a full time job that paid all my bills and then some. That changed and so did my time at the shop.

So.. Now waiting on some more info from a friend.. looking at becoming a shop manager for his computer shop.

Also applying for 2 Jobs here at my current employer tomorrow. First is Quality Assurance. The other is in our Search Engine Optimization Dept. both mean off the phones.. and more money.

Correct me if I'm wrong, don't think I am, but in reading your previous posts, a short while ago you stated you were an enlisted guy in P-cola attending A or C school? Enlisted guys now can fly F-15's? Kewl! I gotta go back in.

not quite, you are wrong. I have no interests in joining the Navy. I am at NAS Pensacola though, for some reason the Air Force chose to have its Strike Navs trained here; and due to the base realignments, the panel Navs from Randolf will be coming here to a new facility in 2010-11ish, then Randolf AFB will close to Nav training (and all Navs will be referred to as CSOs instead of WSOs or NAVs). I posted up in another thread by BookspanS (I believe he was doing basic in the Great Lakes then coming here for Aircraft Maintenance A-School) when he asked about Jeeping in this part of Florida, not much selection there. Props to the enlisted guys, they do lots of hard work, but they do not get to fly, so not for me.

I worked hard for my commission, and I intend to keep it. I do understand the confusion though.

Had it when I worked for Hardcore Racing INC. Got to be around sweet cars all day and never paid retail for any of the parts I bought. But too much money was spent and the business folded. We did have the world's fastest LS1 powered vehicle for a bit there. It ran 7.96 @ 194MPH. Oh yeah it was a 2002 Trans Am.

nice, I have some friends who run a shop in NC where I used to live. I think they came up with some good records at the LSX shootout last year. One guy had a quick trailblazer ss

Well for me it would be to own my own custom shop. I am into all types of rides, so naturally I would work on everything from Lowriders to mud bog trucks and rock krawlers. If I couldnt have that.. I would want to own a Junk yard  would would supply endless parts for my hobby of building rock krawlers

Well, I for one can never say "thank you" enough to guys like you, Bookspan, JT, and all the others on here who have or are currently serving. What I really like is that I haven't seen one person on here yet that said they enlisted just because they had nothing else to do. Sometimes at 18-25 yrs old that is certainly understandable that you don't know what you want to do and the Services offer a wide range of training to choose from, but it seems all of the people on here who have served, did so with enthusiasm. Much respect to that gentlemen.

The services currently offer some amazing deals and opportunities. At this point if you can qualify physically, the marines are offering full tuition reimbursement for enlisting for OCS, and you can try for one of the automatic pilot slots they are handing out. All the services have some great opportunities enlisting, even in the guard. The all volunteer force is one of the best things the military has going for it, people are only here cause they want to be here.

Now, for my dream job, I guess I'd have to say something involved in a racing organization, preferably Motocross and Supercross, along the lines of operations manager or similar. I'd love to be traveling and at the races every weekend, and while I know I wouldn't be able to actually see much of the race action, I just love being in that environment and around those groups of people. I'd like to be the "go-to guy" that coordinates all of the who, what, where, and when and then see it all come together on race day so that everybody is enjoying themselves and the team can be focused on whatever it is they need to be. I do fairly well in situations of "organzied chaos".
