  1. Kinda what I thought
  2. If this has ac check to see if mud is packed inbetween the condesor and rad. this was a prob on my brothers XJ. You also might try flushing the radiator, but I am not sure this would help. Overheating is a *&%^$ It could be 1000 different things.
  3. You will have to switch out almost the whole dash as well as all of the components under the hood. If you have more than just a week end and are able to take your time, then why not. However if this is a DD that you need, I am not sure I would take this on IMHO.
  4. x2. Had the same prob with a 1ton GMC. Added a cooler, and fixed the prob

    Poor Planning

Hopefully they leave the keys to their MJs too
  6. Thanks for the O2 info. I disconnected it this am, and ir seems to have solved the problem. I am going to replace it tomorrow. Again thanks for the help
  7. I have an 88 MJ with the 2.5. In the morning when I start it up it will run for about 5 mins, and then stall. After that I am lucky if it will run for a minute after I restart. If I keep my foot on the gas just a little, it will stay running. Also until it warms up it hesitates, and will buck at just about any speed. I have notice that the dash lights flicker just before it dies, but I am not sure that it is realted. It seems to be worse when it is wet. I have tuned it up, replaced the fuel filter, EGR valve, coil, and a broken wire in the harness. I have good fuel pressure from the pump all the way to the TBI. I am lost and could use some help :headpop: Thanks
  8. When I put Power Steering on my Willys, It took a looooooong time to get all of the air out of the system. Some times you have to bleed, and then bleed again, and then for good measure, bleed again! Hope that helps. I know how frustrating it can be :headpop:

  10. I know a guy who put a Yugo on a Zuki frame. used it to plow drive ways. I have never seen a V8 powered Yugo however. That would be cool
  11. keep up the good work pete!
  12. I agree. You are in a no win situation. Stay away from it, and just be there when your buddy needs you for support

  17. good luck. Looks like a keeper
  18. Are you looking for pics like these?
  19. I towed my 48 willys with a 97 dax 4x4. The trailer wiggled at anything over 55mph, and tried to push the truck through a red light. I did not have trailer brakes, and I will NEVER make that mistake again. Bigger is better. You need a vehicle that will handle the weight. I would not go less than a 3/4 ton IMHO.
  20. Does that mean I could buy the AX-5 gear set, and put it into the tranny I have?
  21. yep 48. Stock drive train, 2.5 inch lift lockers front and rear. 31" swampers. disc brakes and power steering
  22. thanks for the info.
  23. here is mine, it is an 88 with 42,000 miles on her. 2.5 4 cyl with a 4spd, and 2wd She has some typical Ohio rust, but that is to be expected. Right now I use her as a DD, but some day I would like to convert her to 4wd. Nice to see a Comanche site.
