I stalked your rig on craigslist.

maybe never mind on the resize

have no idea how you resize your pic's but you can go to "show codes" at the bottom of your pic's and "direct link" them... but you might want to play around with sizing them. anybody?

Taillights And Marker Lights
Kernel replied to insaneclowns04's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
sounds more like a ground problem so after you check/replace your fuses and while your checking your bulbs find your ground wires and clean them up. my '87xj & '91mj had similar problem. -
hey ryan way to defend ur show. kudos. if you need a rig for a 2wd to 4wd conversion i got one for you. mark

my daughters named my rigs with a little disney influence. the mj is named herbie cause it's white with stripes. the other rigs have names like horace, jasper and oddball. my '45 willys got tagged with grandpa. i never have or ever thought about naming a rig but after yrs of saying white, blue, green, junk, *%$#, etc... i call them by there names all the time. edit: but mommy's car is "mommy's car" ?????

you prob have them in your kit but a good set of (replaceable/lifetime warranty) torques bits. even though a flat head or small prybar works a good door panel removal tool can be used on a lot more than just panels... window trim, prying out rubber grommets, anything that uses those little plastic panel clips. old plastic doesn't like force. a pickle fork can also be used in multiple ways too.

Anyone Have Any Info On This Build?
Kernel replied to nickhuts's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
aaaahhhh.... he started the post with his ?. edit: i've seen that rig before but not sure where maybe in this thread. if not there are a few more flat beds good and bad in the thread. http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/jeep-cherokee/587186-bad-@$$-mjs-pics-post.html -
everybody has you on the right path. to save a little coin grab the spring plates. that ruffstuff kit is what you need but it can be pieced together cheaper but.... and don't forget about gear ratio if your 4wd.
-
just change all the fluids, filters, and give it a tune up (new cap, rotor & wires) and drive it. i know starving student but this way u'll know it's been done. good looking rig.

if you can save $300-$600 bucks cash and then just be patient you'll find what you need/want on/off craigslist. saw a warn m8000 a couple weeks ago 250 obo... thought about it but already have 1. oh ya my m8000 is 18yrs old prob only used a dozen+ times. most pulls are a couple of feet not accross a yard so line pull ?. my 60+yr old bellview on my willys is slow but it still pulls... unless you want it new i'd just get a used winch. .02

you got me looking at old pic's. thanks this is the pic i was looking for the 1st pic was a yr earlier... long arm & snorkel now/then... the snorkel didn't last long cause with the long arm i kept ripping out the flex tube (up under the fender) from the box to the snorkel.

back in the late 80's early 90's con-fer made some extra metal rockers for xj's. they attached to the pinch seam & rocker with screws and stuck out a 1/2in or so. they worked ok for scraping along/against rocks under the rig but any kind of hit would bend them. dr side is a little bent in this pic. after removing them a few times to straighten then out i finally landed hard and crushed both my rocker&extra metal far enough i couldn't open my door. ended up crushing the rocker, door, and floor (t-bone crush points) under the drivers feet. had to do a trail fix with a sledge hammer just to get my door to shut. a couple yrs later +/- i replaced it with a 2x6. if i were to do it again (on another rig) i might keep the 2x6 under the doors instead of cutting them... but the inch & a half more clearance with the doors cut is nice. and by all means i'm not saying/telling you what to do but extra metal doesn't really work and your rocker is already gone. just giving you some ideas. .02

steve would be proud... u just need a canvas top. and with ur rockers just hack out the rest of the rust/rocker and weld in a 2x6 tube. get a rock slider with out loosing the ground clearance. .02
