  6. would you put spider trax 1 1/4 spacers on if you are going to do over 1000 miles in baja? any problems with steel, alum, steel being together?
  7. i would use a cutoff wheel to cut enough metal out of the way to get at the bolt. then remove the bolt , new bolt and weld a new piece in. sometimes its the long way. dave

  12. i like the idea of going 10 mph in 4th gear on ice. can't do that with an auto.
  13. did a search, too many complaints. the problems are one thing, the honoring of the warrantees is another. the prices are good, but after reading about them i wouldn't buy from them.

  19. thanks for the tip. didn't know about it.
  20. IMO leave the fixed glass the vent windows tend to suck. i had vented. tried everything to get rid of leaks and wind noise. i now have 97 doors and quiet without a towel in my lap.
  21. Personally, I would MUCH rather start with a 2WD that hasn't been butchered or abused than somebody else's abortion on wheels, which is what that first truck is. 127,000 miles is VERY low miles for an 80s vintage Comanche. The ad says "OBO," so offer him maybe $1000 or $1200 and see what happens. Converting to 4WD is a bit of work, but the parts can all be gotten from a Cherokee in the junkyard. The only thing that doesn't swap over directly is the rear driveshaft, because of the difference in wheelbase. i agree with the above. one thing to add, if you know the person who did the changes and you agree he does excellent work then consider buying it. but if you don't know them, then stay away. the third mj looks like cosmetic changes. worth taking a look at. dave
