  1. :agree: I looked at the xj ones but they appeared to be too long. Pat hooked me up with the gray belts that I needed. If Pat can't help yall out, I have what both of you need. Just PM me.
  2. How weird. I pick up the same thing at the pick n pull down here this past weekend. Had been looking for sometime. Mine wasn't as clean. The XJ I pulled it from look as if it was driven like it was stolen. Mud everywhere and all the windows broke out. I went ahead and pull the pedal to save the switch headache. Now I regret not pulling some of the tubing. I forgot the mj prop valve set lower. I notice that you also pulled the sensor wiring connected to the prop valve. Should I have snagged that too? Nice job by the way. Glad to hear it wasn't too difficult.
  3. I loved the GSA 30x9.5x15s on my TJ. Had 70k plus when I took them off and still could have gone another 5-8k. Sold them for $135 with rims so as far as I know they are still on the road.
  4. I'd keep your eye out on craigslist. It seems you can always find someone that just put new tires on before a lift and then go to bigger tires. Here's one as an example. http://milwaukee.craigslist.org/pts/447939688.html I know you don't need the rims, but sell them or use them on one of your other projects. Far as the what is better, BFG or Goodyear, I think both are good tires for long wear and both perform good to which they were designed. If I had to choose and they were the exact same price, I'd go with the BFG's. Just my .02.
  5. Found this under commanche on ebay. I can't really see where he put $5200 dollars in this but who knows. :dunno: You would at least think he could get the spelling right for that investment. :smart: 1988 Jeep COMANCHE 4X4 Sport off road camper
  6. Nice find. Should be a good little project. I can't help but wonder on your key problem if yours has the ignition release switch on the column and your not pushing it. Not trying to offend but my son nearly broke the key trying to get it out before I showed him what the little lever on the column was for.
  7. The one by me will not even rent you a car hauler unless you rent their truck to pull it. On top of that they are hard to come by for one day local rental.
  8. Will be interesting which ever route you choose. That is as long as it doesn't come out like this.... j/k :D I really like the old family truckster.
  9. Was looking at a 99 xj in the jy today with a 242. I know it has a different input spline count, but I also noticed the rear output to the driveshaft was flanged. Question is, when did they start with the flanges instead of yokes and can they be swapped? :dunno:

    xj hotrod

Chop a potion of an MJ bed and weld it to the fenders, same body lines. Far as the hood, I'd take two hoods, cut them so the distance would be the same for both, hinge it in the middle. :brows:
  11. :jump: :clapping: Glad it got there ok.
  12. The Metric Ton / Big Ton models. Or are they considered packages under the others. :dunno:
  13. Because I stuff everything in the other one. :D It's kinda clean but very cluttered. I have to roll the MJ out to work on it.
  14. Was thinking of trying to modify a full power window to fit in there like some of the newer trucks. It could be done but would take a little more brain power than I can generate.
  15. Power Slider That's the plan right now. I have a auto glass company that said they should be able to get me one. It's just a little pricey. If not I think we may go with a solid window seeing how it will have AC when we're done. Using FedEX. For some reason their prices and delivery times have been better than UPS. I ask the guy at the counter yesterday if they were in a price war with UPS and he said no but I was one of numerous people that have asked him that lately.
  16. Well this is kinda a how-to. You be the judge. I sold my rear slider to Cole so I had to figure out how to get it to him in one piece. I've see windows at the dealership in crates, so I figure we'll start there. I went to the Depot and picked up two 1X4X8's. Using my router table, I put a 1/4 in. notch down the center of each board. I then cut two lengths at 60 in. and four at 14 in. and basically made a frame for the window. Sit's in the notch real nice. Since I had some spare 1X2 laying around I made four more 14 in. pieces to add some extra protection. I used 2 in. deck screws to put it all together. Pre-drilled the holes so the wood wouldn't split. Now I probably could have shipped it like that, but I wanted to give it some extra protection. Plan is to cover it with cardboard..... ....by using this. I layed it out on the card board, and figured some foam would help keep the cardboard's shape so I broke out some foam from the old Xbox carton and my foam cutting tool. Well as luck would have it, the staples were not long enough :headpop: and it's too late to go back to the Depot. :wall: I really want this to ship in the morning so I did what any man would do. Just Duct it. :wrench: Duct tape is like Lays potato chips, you just can't stop until the bag (roll in this case) is empty. :D We'll know in a couple of days but I say it will make it there just fine.
  17. I've never seen this kit before. Do ya have pic's. Only thing I've seen is the a front skid and only on xj's. As far as talking you out of selling it that is easy.... Just give it to me. :jump:
  18. :fool: Doh I used the wrong strait too. I was going to ask if the steering wheel could be put on wrong but I didn't think it could be. My thinking with above was that if the steering wheel although straight, was a full turn off when the draglink was put back on. Or is that even possible?
  19. Just so I got it right in my own head I drew some basic cheats. This is what it should look like. 1 wheels strait 2 steering wheel strait 3 pitman arm strait (parallel with steering box.) Now if the wheels are strait and the steering wheel is strait but the pitman arm is off. You need to adjust the draglink. Hope this helps because until I put it down on paper it wasn't clicking.
  20. Don't ask me how but I came across this site looking for engine hoist uses. Just can't stop clicking the different categories. :D http://www.lilligren.com/Redneck/index.html
  21. Welcome aboard.

    Kenda Tires

I wish my wife worked someplace I could benefit from an employee discount. Hope it works out for ya. On another note, you may want to edit this line Someone may take it the wrong way. J/K
  23. I'm really like at 3.5 in. up front and 4.5 in. back. It has the stock MJ arms on right now and sits pretty good. I was planning on some RE adj arms anyway (especially now that I have a set of RE 4.5 springs on the way) but I had remember that these were a good upgrade. I thought they would be a bit longer. :( What about drop brackets or is it not worth the trouble? Oh well I guess they will be in the classified section soon. :D
  24. So basically you just cut off what was sticking out pass the bushing sleeve and a little trimming. How much difference did you notice after you installed them and how much lift do you have on the 90 MJ? I have around 4 inches and was concerned about centering in the wheel well. I read that one and didn't see anything about trimming other than the bushing. May have to read it again. I like the mods on his page and the nice write-ups.
  25. Has anyone done this swap? I know you have to shave the ends down a little to make them fit the MJ mounts. I was going to get some RE adj. control arms but came across these. I like the extra tire clearance and the solid feel of them. Pros and Cons would be appreciated.
