Can Spell Comanche (2/11)

  1. are you planning on doing radius arms with heims? if so don't. the upper arms have to have give in them. hence rubber bushings. if you put heims in the upper control arms it will rip stuff apart, or it won't flex at all. if you are set on using heims, and doing the radius arms, then only put one upper on. that will work fine. but with the 2 on there it will try twisting you axles, and it will find something it can break off. just letting you know. i know from personal experience. nice build though, i like where you are going with it.
  2. well, i traded out the waggy front for a HP 44 out of a ford truck. i geared it with junk yard gears to 4:10's. i changed out the radius arms for a 3rd link, which is so much better feeling on and off road, and thats about it. here are the pictures.
  3. From what i can tell you need to take A off. which ever one is shorter, take off. and i don't run swap bars on my truck, and have never had a problem. but i also know how to drive it so that i don't have to worry about it. you just have to realize that without a sway bar it handles differently.
  4. I have an 89 comanche, and a 91 parts cherokee. i'm swapping the tranny, tcase, and now the engine. seeing as how the 91 is high output, what do i need to swap over the high output stuff. i have the computer wiring harness, and everything, i just need some info thanks.
  5. Tonight we got the rear end locked up, i can't wait till i take it ou and see what a difference it will make. i'm guessing there will be a little bit of a difference. i guess we'll find out. now it's time for some sleep as it is 12:00 am
  6. They are 12.50's on an 8x16 inch rim
  7. So i got a quick update to my project. i cut the rear lower quarter panels in preparation forr building my rear bumper, a little early, but they were all dented, and banged up anyway, so i figured it would make it look nicer. :rotf: i like the look. i can't wait till i have the bumper to protect it, and add some sweetness. here are some videos from a recent wheeling playing around trip.
  8. Ok, first, i think your truck is sweet! the 42's look good on it. it makes my 37's seem small. but it tought i would bring up something. the crossmember for the rear of the leaf spring mount might get in the way of your front drivshaft. i don't know if you were planning on dropping the shaft from on top of that crossmember or what, but it thought i would throw that out there. keep up the good work.
  9. correction, I wouldn't count rusty's out. thats what i ment to say.

  11. sond like a good plan, although, i would consider a different tire if you want it to be on the road as much as it is off-road. the bogger will wear out pretty quickly and unevenly on the road. maybe a nice moterate mud terrian, or a different directional like the xterrains or baja claw or something. just a thought. about rusty's, i have a couple of their products, and they arent bad. i have heard that they have improved their stuff alot in the past couple years. i would count them out, but explore all your options.

  13. here she is in the state she now sits. dual 44's 37's buddybuilt long arms, lots of fender hacking
  14. ok, not that i'm saying its ok to wheel and drive, actually i think it is stupid to do so, only because i have a buddy who breaks something EVERY time he does it, but i have to agree with the one bad MJ dude. they could have been camping, or wheeling on somewhere where no one was around, if he broke his truck, or got stuck or something, thats only hurting him. and its kinda funny that you said if you had any power you would remove that picture, but instead with the power that you have, you decided to post it again. kinda funny.
  15. actually, looking at your pictures, i think had you put the 3 inch lift springs in the front, your truck would look level front and rear, which is probably what the 3 inch lift springs front and rear are supposed to look like. i think it looks good without the shackles in the rear, and had you gotten the 4.5 inch lift rear it would look level with your 4.5 inch lift front. maybe its just me.
