  1. OK, i still think you should go dual flat pane with shatter-proof glass though...
  2. it means that it's got both sticker sets. *shrug* i have no idea what options your truck has, but all i can say is the decals are just decals, and in my experience don't signify anything of import besides type of carpet and seat options. chances are you have a cloth carpet, but seats were buyer's choice on the pioneer in my experience. a mj could be ordered as per the buyer's request, so it all varies upon what the customer wanted
  3. doing that to a dana 35 is a moot idea, it WILL blow up eventually, sooner than later. wait on the upgrade, get a nice chrysler 8.25 out of a cherokee (they're cheap) or do an 8.8 or a dana 44 swap.
  4. I believe he's doing custom frame/frame rails. and i'm enjoying the posts...let's just say that i may follow in dirty's and pongs footsteps with what's left of project tatersalad.
  5. first, like i said, premeasure some braces to the desired width to fit in between the rocker panels. heck, make a brace frame so it stays square if you want...that would help out alot and you could use that to bolt it to the frame if you welded it in. for the windshield, go to a shop and have them measure out the opening...try and keep that as close to stock design as possible, with the exception of it being narrower. they can measure it out and just make a windshield to fit for less than 400 dollars. an xj windshield would crack and shatter if they tried to do it that way, and it would also crack/shatter with any weight whatsoever put in the center of it once put in. if you don't wanna spend the $$$, then make a pair of box frames and set it up like an m715 where it's 2 panes of glass, and 2 little 14" wiper blades, seperate panes that are bolted into the frames...if you get what i mean. give it that armored car look :brows: if you do it right you could set it up with your frame system and still have it appear to be a streetable vehicle. once caught, you will get ticketed probably for an unsafe vehicle, or at least be required to have it inspected...in which case it would probably not pass.
  6. no clue, it's in the chemical makeup...it doesn't break down as fast and helps to reduce anymore buildup of gunk in the engine, and clean it too i believe.
  7. so far as options on any package...basically, you could choose what you wanted and how you wanted it without regard to it being a olympic, laredo, pioneer, eliminator, etc.
  8. no "dumb guy" put olympic stickers on it...it's the 88 olympic edition, jeep was chosen that year as the official olympic vehicle, so there ya go. now you know something more about your mj.
  9. OR you build a tube-frame vehicle of your specs and then use the mj cab like sheet metal and cut it down as a "bolt-on" body...removeable if you need to repair anything, with a removeable floor if, say, you need to get to the transmission or something... not like it's street legal anyways..
  10. 5 or 6 braces would work...as long as the pipes fit like a glove together. 2 at the top of the cab 2 in the middle 2 or 3 on the bottom. and for good measure, measure out solid square tube braces for the bottom that are the desired width...that way when you slide it together, you can square the bottom by welding those in and removing the telescoping ones off the bottom, do the same on the top, then start stitching, little spots and give it time to cool by skipping to the other side and such... what are you gonna do for windows? dash will have to be cut down or removed in favour of custom stuff, and the engine compartment i'm gonna go ahead and assume will be all tube frame.
  11. 10-30 high mile synthetic
  12. yes and no...basically it was an option on the REAR end only, but isn't common. i believe that was just the chrysler rear end too...but not certain. you can get lsd out of a cherokee if you find one equpped with that and put it in a comanche

    Gas Prices?

so in light of a fire accident, you're the first to go BOOM!!!!! :headpop: :headpop: hehe, j/k.
  14. I'm still 20... :P haha, this thread grew. wow
  15. http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4410 that's the post on it. i was gonna use a j10 or m715 frame. you run into alot of problems...such as wheel base. it CAN be done
  16. 1"tubing as your braces on the left side, 1.25" on the other side. cut them all the same measurements, and drill your spots out...use them like a telescoping system and have a bolt cross through it. you could even figure out how much you're taking out and drill another set of holes that far down..so that when you slide the halves closer you drop a bolt back through and voila, you're aligned. these would be welded in place an cut out later btw. that make sense?
  17. you can just reposition the brake lines lower as well.
  18. I had considered this...you can do it but the cherokee frame will either need to be welded to the mj body and used as a replacement unibody, or you bolt the manche with the frame to the cherokee frame. either way you gotta keep the body rigidity so it won't flex funny, and will offer at least SOME protection if you go arse over head
  19. that kit WON'T work...the lights are just like the ones from factory..all 1 piece. unless I am missing something and they come with new lenses too?

  22. you should sell all the xj parts you have and buy a wrecked 98 and update the engine/interior/drivetrain/doors....
  23. i just $#!& a brick i laughed so hard. H4 is a higher power blue-ish headlight. replaces stock headlights

    Junkyard finds

haha, everything is more expensive when your dad's long-time friend doesn't own a junkyard :D I swear if i bought him a case of beer he'd let me have whatever i want.. but if you ever need any glass panes you know where to look...they're not going anywhere.
