lol. um. who the hell cares what barack obama says? "Barack Obama: living proof that no matter how successful a black person is, he's still eligible for government housing" (not intended to be racist just funny)

yes, I'm excited.

Jesus christ, I am really starting to not trust anything you have to say. NONE of those are roosters, seriously dude. Dude what are you smoking? Brown eggs are not nutritionally any different than white, green or blue eggs. Ya store bought commercially produced eggs are less nutritional than free range, but color has no impact on nutritional value. IIRC, you got them as chics. I know of no way to sex out chickens as babies. I've either had, or been around chickens for 22 years, and I'm 22 years old. I said it looks like you have more males than females...I gave no definitive answer. the pictures show large combs on most of the chickens. generally, a large comb is indication of the chicken being a male, but not always, and not with all types of chickens. Brown eggs hold more protien. maybe that's an old farmer's tale, but you're talkin to a farmer man, and that's what I've gathered from a family of farmers, and many other local farmers. Ok, and I've either had, or been around chickens for 23 years, and I'm 23 years old. And yes, you can sex day old chicks. It's not 100% but they can be sexed, furthermore they are breeds called "sex-links" which can be sexed 100% correctly. When you cross certain breeds together recessive traits come through only on males or only on females, the particular breeds crossed can be sexed immediately after hatching based solely on physical appearance. Yes they have some nice large combs, but do you see any hackle feathers? Brown eggs DO NOT hold more protein, its an old farmers tale, just like tying the chicken head to the neck of the dog, and tomato juice will get the skunk stink out. hey man get off the defensive here. I just said it LOOKED. I don't care enough about your chickens to look closely at them. merely made a simple, non-offensive observation. anyways, who the eff cares about your chickens? enjoy them man. keep up the good work on your jeep build, and stop getting offended if someone makes a simple basic observation (while offering NO guarantee that it's 100% correct). I have chickens on my farm. for eggs. I don't care enough about them even to gather any more info than what they are, and what sex they turn out to be once they're grown up. they're just chickens, which means they're just food in one way shape or form.

EDIT: I googled sexing chickens, and learned that you can sex them from day one, but it can be very difficult to tell...never knew that. *shrug* funny since I've been in 4H and showed bantams for a few years.

It keeps the hen satisfied.. A happy hen lays many eggs... That s if you keep swiping them.. I would like to have some chickens.. What kind is the best for eggs vrs meat? silkies and other smaller hens are great for laying eggs. you want brown eggs because they're healthier (but the whole "brown eggs have no yoke" thing is a crock of $#!& BTW). as for roosters....one rooster is good for around 15 hens. any more then one leads to (dare I say it) C#*@-fighting. chickens for meat are called "meat chickens". usually white. feed them lots of protien and give them alot of room to scratch. with any chickens, try and keep them housed on greenery. and don't overcrowd.

Edelbrock Remote Reservoir Shocks - Feedback?
JeepcoMJ replied to HOrnbrod's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The cherokee 6" rear shocks are too long for my current setup. I'm SOA with rear lower shock mounts about @ the stock location. need to redo the shock mounts....gonna leave the lower mounts where they are and sink the upper mounts up through the bed (I'm removing my nice stock bed and building a custom willys style bed for it). ...need to get that done before the badlands trip in a few weeks, so I don't wreck them. BTW there's only one of those universals left in stock. -
it looks like you have more roosters than hens. you want only one rooster in a smaller group like that.
-
you'll need another battery at least. a generator would be ideal.
-
with a 3.4 liter camaro engine? you'd probably be okay.

Edelbrock Remote Reservoir Shocks - Feedback?

what wahoo said. I'm getting a set of their external reservoir shocks for a grand cherokee w/ lift, then lifting the 3800 accordingly :P -
lol. I did, but I'm headin out to crash. I wanna get up early and get 30 stores done tomorrow...have 88 left.

I have a set of the black chrome ones @ home. if you want a set of headlights that DON'T light anything up, shoot me a pm :P seriously. my amber fogs are brighter than they are witha better spread too. -Pat

If it's part number 7571 that info is incorrect. MO sells these and says this is the correct part# for 0-3". Actually said it's INcorrect (aka not correct). RC does not make a trackbar for the XJ/MJ under 4" of lift. Hi Adam! :waving: :shake: *shrug*

um. do your axle gears match? you CANNOT mix and match axle gears. also... a 4-link is a complete waste of time on a 2.8 liter powered comanche. the only way you'll make it worth your while (which means make the truck useable enough to justify a 4 link). bottom line, just do a 4wd conversion and be happy, if you have no intention on upgrading the engine. that motor doesn't have the power to turn anything larger than like 28" tires. they're more gutless than a 4 cylinder.

I understand that. but an auto trans is more complex with many more smaller moving parts than an engine. adding seafoam to the aw4 is not the same concept as adding it to an engine. if it affects it negatively, it will effect it even worse...i.e. one part (in the clutch pack or valve body) fails in an auto trans, usually it takes everything else out with it and you're left stuck. you have high miles. just drain it, maybe replace the pan gasket (I wouldn't replace the filter inside...at this point it's probably never been changed so I'd leave it) and refill it. if you want to flush the lines, remove them and run good ol' H20 through them then blow them out with an air gun and put them back together. that's the way I "flush" my adub4's. I have yet to have one actually fail on me...and the trans in the 87 has almost 200k of extremely abused miles on it (it has been beat and wheeled hardcore for the past 120k miles). good thing I have a low miles spare :brows:
-
I'm in complete agreement with eagle on this one. FYI it's next to impossible to replace valve seals without removing the head.
-
They make a transmission specific product also, not the same thing as what we run through the engines. oh. well, I've never heard of it done on an xj or mj much less heard of it at all. It works now right? then just drain the pan and refill it. maybe reseal the pan while you're doing that. but I'd not add addative to it.
-
seafoam? in an auto trans with clutch packs and brass pressure discs? uh-uh. I'd keep seafoam to engines. I've never heard of it being run through trannies and really don't want to think about what it could do.

dex/merc atf+3 on up. ABSOLUTELY NO synthetic atf should EVER be put in an aw4 that is not brand spanking new. AW4's can withstand synthetic only when it was ran from day one. otherwise, putting it in later in life WILL destroy the clutch pack.
-
When you part it out PM me. my brother needs a set of 6.5" rear leafs for his xj. well, for what is soon going to be scrapped...he's working on financing on a brand newish 01 xj and will be swapping everything from his old one to the new one :D. his rear springs just suck tho

Alright, so what is your guys preferred gps? no polls here, just your input. my first one was a Garmin...a cheapo. it worked OK at first, then it started having firmware issues and repetitivelyh repeating itself. I replaced it with the next Garmin version up one up...that one was OK until it all of a sudden stopped getting signal. it would get no signal anywhere so I restored it to factory and it still wouldn't work. it ended up getting hurled out the window into a trash can (after I summarily beat it with a crescent wrench and took away any possibility of a dumpster diver getting any use of it). maybe a waste of money, but I was not impressed AT ALL being 0 for 2 with garmin. My current one, even though I HATE the redundency of the name, is a TomTom...I forget which model a 340 or something. wide screen. it seems the best so far, save that it doesn't give me direct address or phone number of anything that I search in points of interest. one thing I HAVE to do to it though is cover up the TomTom name...maybe this is OCD but the simple redundency of the name irks me to no end. What do you guys run? pro's/cons? I'm thinking of replacing the latest one if I find one that has the superior search function of Garmin and the superior display options of the TomTom

my 86 is named '3800 or MJ3800 based on the fact that I put a 96 camaro buick 3800 v6 in it to replace the crappy 2.hate liter, and a small upgrade from the other option...a 3.4 liter camaro motor. before the engine upgrade, I calld it "Duke" just cause I liked the name. my 87 wheeling truck is called MJ757 because my new screen name makes me the 757th member here...it used to be jeepcom1 but I lost the password. that was something in the 300's. it's other name is the "War Machine" because I'm an avid Iron Man fan, and that combined with MJ757 gives it a numerical military group (MJ) and number (757). other than that, I haven't named any other comanches...they were all called by year. my 86 cherokee was "forby" cause it was a four banger. -Pat

idk, I thought alex's MJ looked good when I saw him the other day. but...it was 2am on a dark street :P BTW automan, alex and I are workin on gettin parts together for a proper restore on her.
