Replacing Sway Bar pins....?
ComancheKid45 replied to ComancheKid45's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Would be great, but both sides have been cut and grinded flush with the mount. Is it possible that they are tapered and can only be hammered out from the inside-out? -
Alright, this isnt my problem but 1 for my friends 99 XJ. Were attempting to install sway bar disconnects today and we can't seem 2 to remove the stock pins to install the new 1s. Weve tried everything from heat and Hammers to drills, and even with brand new bits we cannot even penetrate through those things. Is theyre any other options or tricks that maybe were missing? thanks for any help!

Finally gave this fella some attention today, Hopefully with the cold weather gone I can now focus on giving this guy a nice coat of paint. I will be rolling/brushing on a color called Carmel, its a nice mellow Browish/tan and should go great on a primary work truck ;) I spent some time this evening removing the rest of the decals and glue left behind from the emblems. I hope to possibly have this thing painted this week sometime but we'll see.... I'm just glad for the nicer weather to acctually get to work on it. :clapping: -

Um, idk, theyre just standard shackles.... The 2" XJ shackle will net about 1.5" of lift on an MJ.....theyre nothing crazy. People run them all the time, and I netted about 1.5" of lift from them excatly when they were installed in 2008...
-
Yep, thats about 3.5" of total lift. XJ 3" AAL (2" on MJ) + 1.5" shackle on the rear Rustys 2" Coils + 1.5" puck up front.

Help Identifying leaf springs

Stock packs had 4 leafs, MT packs had 5 -
I installed a 3" Hell creek XJ AAL and gained just about 2" of lift, combined with a 1.5" shackle and it got my truck sitting like this.

Bushwacker flat style flares on MJ?

Even the rears will work? :dunno: -
Well after another 20 mins troubleshooting @ 11pm I think i finally found the culprit. This orange wire had seperated, i quick fixed and twisted it back together and wa la the fuel pump came on and the truck ran again.....this was probably the problem all along, atleast I hope so. ill get it repaired properly this evening and go from there. sorry for the bad pic, but this was on the distribution block behind the battery.

Is this something that would help out even with the Unibody bumper tie-ins?

This is a very intermittent problem. Once its running it runs great but occasionally just while sitting at idle it stalls out and will not restart... I have bypassed the Ballast resistor and tested starting 6-8 times and each time the pump primes and the truck runs fine. I drove it 8 miles tonight, parked it applied the parking brake and it slowly stalled out and no longer had power to the pump to restart. Ill try to fire it up in a few hours to drive home. I'm really at a loss for this now, its very intermittent. I'm 90% sure its a fuel pump power issue but may just replace the CPS as well, it seems to be more of an issue after the truck is drivin and up to tempreture, cause itll sit there and idle all day long once up to 210+ degrees. :wall:

starts and runs but dies when driving

Definently check the Crank Sensor and also the Ballast resistor. also check your TPS voltage. :wrench: -
And likely the same brainiacs that think this whole Ethanol blended junk is a good idea 2.... :fool:

Uh Oh, lookie what Showed up Friday  Yep, my Rocky Road Outfitters sliders :clapping: Should have them installed today! Stay tuned... -
alright well this mornin she didnt wanna fire up again, its acting like its starved for fuel......I'm leaning towards the fuel filter, this truck wasnt run much at all for a few years and now that Ive been cleaning up the fuel system and for all i know the filter is factory installed, I think the pump is priming till it feels pressure back 2 it than quits, meanwhile the engine doesnt have any fuel to it... meaning clogged filter... I have a spare filter laying around so ill swap it tonight and see what i find, meanwhile ill keep hunting for the culprit. :wrench:
