  1. I brought home a friend this weekend. He is kind enough to donate some parts for awhile :wavey: More Pics here viewtopic.php?f=3&t=23433
  2. Well here some pictures of it here @ home still untouched by myself..... Its definently not pretty but I feel good knowing I saved alot of MJ Parts that will live on, on other trucks  Engine runs decent, but the transmission is loose or something is broken internally between the Engine block and the Bellhousing because it will shake violently and you can visably see it from the engine bay. Frame rot anyone? Metric Ton Leafs or just simply an AAL? Interior isnt trashed atleast Another side shot, ignore my Dog being a goober :rotf:
  3. What about the Old Dodge Ram 50 lights? :dunno:
  4. It will be here @ home tonight or tomorrow. Owner said he'll transport it up here for free. The Engine fired right up with a battery and sounds great! No knocks or ticks at all :clapping: The Tranny is definently shot or something else is preventing it from moving, lol ill get pics ASAP
  5. Alrighty ill let ya know how it goes tomorrow, Id just hate to see an an MJ goto to the scrapper even if there isnt much 2 it, I think this is a worthy cause to try and save some valuable parts for down the road
  6. Its maybe a mile from the house...so even if the trans is drivable/limpable I can easly get it home or I have friends that are willing to drag it home for me. I have space to keep it for awhile as well and plan 2 eventually strip all the usable parts from it and scrap the rest, it comes with the cap also in good shape so theres probably $100 back right off the bat if i sell that. Dad says its a good investment with certian parts of these things becoming rare so I'm likely gonna go for it.
  7. Alrighty I found this Truck @ a local car lot. Bought for $300 here's a pic and the list of possible perks/ flaws. $300 isnt too bad IMO and I can probably make that back out of it at some time with parts/scrap if needed. Thanks for any opinions 1990 LWB 4.0l Auto 4x4, 94,xxx miles Frame is garbage and would in no way be road worthy, without MAJOR work Body is pretty rough, cab corners/rockers are toast. However Floors are still present and in ok shape Tailgate is toast, Bed has rust above the wheel wells and in a few other spots, would likely need some work or a sazsaw, incl. flares Tail lights have a few small cracks but are in good shape Transmission is supposibly shot, fluid looks new so idk about that Engine runs without issues, blowby is noticable though on Air Filter Brand new Alternator installed, hell there aint even greasy fingerprints on it, spotless! lol Gas Tank appears decent and has sending unit still installed. Has 5 leaves on the rear, 4 +1 flat overload, thats either a MT package or PO added an AAL at some point, rear doesnt appear lifted. However it still has just a Dana 35 Interior is kinda dirty but includes a decent condition bench seat with head rests. most noticable flaw inside is the passenger window crank is broken. No Carpet just rubber floor overlay Thats about all i can think off off the top of my head, this would only be used as a parts vehicle for when I need things over time, ill likely just tear everything i possibly could off of it over a said period of time and eventually scrap the rest but I intend in no way to make this a street or trailable truck. I think I can make up the cost out of it even with things i don't need to keep but wanted a few more opinions from some others who know these trucks just as much. Thanks Again
  8. When the XJ was killed so was the best years of Chrysler and Jeep...... I hope to never have anything to do with anything Jeep or Vehicle wise post early 2000s, Its all Junk if ya ask me :dunno:
  9. x2 on the Spidertraxx.......Ive had no issues with mine
  10. Swapped out my leaky Coolant pressure bottle..... Wondering if I should be jumping on an oppertunity for a parts truck to just keep around :dunno:
  11. Ok....well for some reason my truck came back to life and i think it had something 2 do with the coolant level being real low, i unplugged the coolant sensor and replugged it and it fired right up. I swapped out my leaky pressure bottle tonight and refilled the system afterwards and all seems well again.....We'll see in the morning
  12. Sorry for Hijacking but I'm kinda stuck with you now. Alright mine decided not 2 start this morning. If i jump the 2 wires off the resistor together The fuel pump will prime with the key on but I still can't get it 2 fire. Its raining out so thats all i tried, ill look around more with it later :dunno:
  13. Took Pics  Check my build thread viewtopic.php?f=7&t=11644&start=60
  14. No it was leaking somewhere from the bottom or back. I just got a new OEM 1, the 1st 1 lasted 23 years, I think ill be fine with another :wavey:
  15. Well after about a week I have no complaints, They did great in a small offroad test and have just the right amount of "hum" on the highway. Had them @ speeds up to 70 without vibrations as well. here's a few pics from today of them on the truck
  16. Well i had noticed over the past few months that my pressure bottle had been seeping a bit and today when i popped the hood i noticed a good amount of coolant around the area so its time to replace the bottle before it totally fails. Anyway are there any aftermarket options out there like aluminum 1s? If not ill see what i can get through Advance or hit up a scrap yard. If you have 1 laying around thats in decent shape and wouldent mind parting with it throw me an offer as well. Thanks!
  17. Got a nice surprise today! 31x10.50x15 Treadwright Crawlers :clapping: I got em mounted this afternoon and after an intitional Drive They ride so much better than my previous tires did, Have to try em out offroad but I think I'm gonna enjoy these, I havent heard a bad review yet so I wanted my own opinion so we'll see over time. Pics this weekend!
  18. :ack: :ack: Agree with the boxy accents for a boxy structure
  19. Have a Link to this writeup? Id love to do this mod 2 my MJ sometime. Keep up the goood work
  20. What a Sweet Truck! :clapping:
  21. Awesome, well then I might not even worry about changing up my oil choice then. I didnt plan on running an additive but just brought it up for discussion :wavey:
  22. I currently buy 2 gallons of Vavoline Premium Blue diesel oil.....runs about $25, but It also saves me 2qts for the next change. I just figured id see if this would be an investment to add some of that additive every other change or so...
  23. Alright well how about something like this being run in your oil now and then? http://www.lucasoil.ca/products/product ... =HeavyDuty
  24. This topic has surpassed anything I would have imangined, I'm glad this info is arriving as well. So let me clear this up, if "SL" is in the rating even if "SM" is also itll be alright to run?
