Decided to tackle my Axle install tonight with a few friends and install my XJ 3" AALs while I was in there to see how much lift I could gain from them... Pulled out the old Turdy-five Ready to throw on the AALs D44 in its new home! :clapping: After all was done i gained right about 2" in the rear after the AAL, I'm sure itll settle some but i am pleased, I have LCAs and springs ordered for the front so ill be right over the 3" mark on lift which is where ive wanted 2 be for a long time. Need to replace 1 brake line tomorrow but otherwise Its all but done. Very productive evening  -
I WANT!^^^^ Awesome rigs there man, I'm jealous

Well almost every fluid in this thing was disgusting so today my mission was to change coolant, oil and tranny fluid. The 1st thing i noticed last evening when i went to change the thermostat was the coolant could have been mistaken for coffee! YUCK! I replaced the 180* themostat with an OEM 195, and flushed the whole system clean and refilled with something better than the brown crap that was in it. Oil and Tranny fluid wasnt much better and decided to throw on the tranny cooler while I was @ it. Next will be fix the door latch and get ready to patch the bad spot above the drivers rear wheel. -
Besides the blingy rims, i would acctually love to have an MJ like that for rippin around town. I'm not a fan of lowered trucks at all but the Street MJs were awesome :D

A Nice coat of POR-15 for the D44 this evening  My G2 Diff Cover hasnt arrived yet and I'm not wasting effort on painting the stocker, lol -
Your Defrosters and I'm sure a few other attributes will not operate without it....

Any thoughts on diff covers

I have a Cover on the way for my D44 from a company called G2. Its designed similar to a Rock Crusher (whats on my current D35) but is made out of Aluminum. Rock Crushers were on 2-3 month backorder so i figured ill give this brand a try. -

My cousins boyfriend has an 89 XJ Limited. the trans is shot and it has many electrical issues. He plans to scrap it and gave me full roam to swipe anything I want from it...Score! Picked up some Gauges (and sensors), as well as a factory tranny cooler and also swiped the OEM clock. Might go back for another thing or 2 but not 2 much i can't already get from my parts MJ, lol 1st 1 of these ive ever seen in person. I like it  Gauges all work great. next on the list is fluid changes, the coolant in this thing is disgusting! -

MY COMANCHE PROJECT WHAT SHOULD I DO
ComancheKid45 replied to codymanche's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
The closed Cooling system is good as long as its working properly. a Tranny cooler is a good investment if you live in a place with Warm weather and do alot of towing/hard slow wheeling. Its an easy install as well. Also a friend and a welder will do alot better and safer work over that bolt on SOA kit. Welcome to the Madness of what is ComancheClub  -
Unless you convert the entire system to an open Cooling system i believe your stuck with that bottle...

.01 off is fine to match up, should not have any issues. As for the Trannys. 87-90 2.5l MJs used the AX5 (AX4 4 speeds) I'm not sure if this changed for the 91-92 model years though. O Yeah, Welcome to the MJ madness which is ComancheClub

I'm not sure, I'm going to add an XJ 3" AAL to my pack during the axle swap, so that might net me 1.5" in the rear on top of my 1.5" shackle, At most Ill be 3" over stock, I was under the impression that you would need atleast 4" of lift for a D35 rear shaft to work with a D44. I have my current driveshaft and its still in good shape. I also have a D44 shaft but its from a LWB (that was the 1 i was gonna get cut). If my D35 shaft will work that would be great, but from what ive read itll need to loose an inch or so to prevent bottoming out..... :dunno:

My 88. I have found 1 Driveshaft shop close by, ill be stopping by there this week likely, Seems like $60-$100 is the price I shoul be looking at for this service :dunno:

D35 all set in its new home. I also added an extra leaf outta the parts truck to this 1 for alittle extra capacity. just need some spring clamps for the packs. Decided to shoot a coat of undercoating while i was under there, the brakes are bled and this truck is drivable again :D . Ive offically sucessfully completed my 1st Axle swap This will probably be it for this truck for a few days, my focus now turns to prepping the D44 for my 88 MJ :clapping: -
After all what do you think Synthetic "Blend" Oils are??? :chillin:

Rear brakes questions/need help finding parts
ComancheKid45 replied to MjPioneer's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
That fitting is just a rear brake line. Look up 1 for a 95 Dakota if you plan on lifting or have already lifted your truck. Itll bolt right on and be a bit longer as well. Should be available through any parts chain (I know Advance has em) -
