  1. That's what I'm particularly interested in, how they look on the rear
  2. Those are the big Bushwackers, not the flat style ones. Thanks Motion Offroad, I'm looking forward to seeing them.
  3. Does anybody know if they fit? My gf's brother has a Comanche we're thinking about trying them on.
  4. I like beer. I'll even admit to drinking Keystone Light when I need to sober up...but that isn't often. My favorite beers are just about anything from Blue Moon, some Shiners, or whatever's free. Drank my share of Coors Light etc in my younger days but don't get it so much now. Instead of lime in my Corona I like a shot of Bacardi Limon, a little extra alcohol never hurt anybody!
  5. Howy purdy! Personally I wouldn't do either. I'd probably find somebody to (or DIY) a pinstripe along the body line from the front to the back. I like the stock stripes other than they don't extend onto the front fender. No painted wheels either, some newer/nicer ones would definitely set off that sweet 'manche. My .02
  6. Home sweet home! I've been meaning to check out the OBCDR for years, just haven't been able to get it together yet. Great pics!
  7. I'd just go for buying some of the spacer/adapters. SpiderTrax or any other company can help you out there. And to find what bs to use, find out what the JK rims are, and then what your stock wheels are (or how much more/less you want them to stick out), and go for that.
  8. I don't see it that way at all, and when you said not to use the "R" word in conjunction with mentioning jalopyjournal, I thought the R word you were referring to was "restore." Lol To me, rat is kind of leaving something intentionally "crappy". Not everybody wants nice candy or flake'd paint, instead they want to replicate what have traditionally called "rat rods". While they aren't typically what has been referred to as being ratty, they're still built in that same vein and so I think the name still applies. Building something intentionally crappy is just building a POS, I don't think you can confine the term rat to just one thing.
  9. 34x9.50s, the 10.50s would be LTBs, they don't look quite the same. Guessing 6" rim width?
  10. jalopyjournal is the sheit. Primer and whitewalls with red steelies would be pimp on a Comanche methinks. How about building your own bed, maybe coming straight up from the framerails, and adding old Jeep flatfender fenders to the rear for a kind of rat stepside?
  11. You mean the 2wd SR5s? My old man's 2wd Toyota pickup is 5x4.5 as well, but 14" rims.
  12. Looks great! What's your plan for tires/gearing? And did those V8 coils change the ride or handling of your truck? (before the SOA and ACOS etc)
  13. Between the spring pads for the leaf springs. The axle is probably the same width but the pads on the axle are set at different widths on the axle, as well as being on the top of the axle when you'd need them on the bottom anyway.
  14. Yep it's a SWB, even has the 2.8 tags on it IIRC. This last summer the drivetrain all got swapped out of it, it's got a 4.0 now. I should see him over Thanksgiving, I'll have to ask.
  15. Really? My uncle owns a SWB Comanche with the 2.8 V6 so I'd always assumed it was an '86. Guess you learn something new every day...
  16. Really cool, thanks! I'm mostly here researching Comanches, I've found one or two but haven't found just the perfect one yet. However it's really cool to have one place to read about common problems and fixes, along with some swappage info, as even the most "perfect' MJ still needs some tweaks!
  17. Image Not Found I've had this idea floating around in my head for a LOOONG time, cool to see it chopped finally. I'd definitely buy one, make it pretty bare bones (AC and cruise though please) and I'd buy one, especially if it got a baby Cummins and a manual transmission! SAS it with F150/big bronco axles on 35s, lock it up, and have an awesome all-around rig!
  18. Yes she is! Can I get a bigger version of that last pic? Those look like the Gamblers from a TJ, is that correct? Those are the wheels I'm planning to put on my MJ (when I find the right one that is), and was just wondering how they'd look closer up.
  19. I vote for Chilipepper red, it's such a sweet color!
  20. I'm with the guy who recommended the Escort. I have one as well, an '89 GT. I paid $400 for it, with who knows how many miles (engine's been out, somewhat butchered wiring etc), but it's paid for itself multiple times over, is kind of fun in a beaterish way to drive, and can easily get 40 mpg on the freeway, at anywhere between 65-90 mph. As far as the 6.2 goes, my old man used to have one. Not the best puller ever, but it was great for long distance driving, nice and comfortable and got good mpg.
  21. Sounds like a great collection you have there! I'm especially diggin' the Comanche, I stole a pic of it off snort awhile ago when you were selling those 255s. It looks like my ideal comanche, just enough lift to fit some narrow 33s...perfect!

    Ditto!
  23. A guy I work with has a new one, but it's been sitting for awhile so I wouldn't call it brand new. He ended up going with an ARB in his YJ instead of the LockRight and just never got around to selling it. I'll ask him tomorrow if you want
  24. Welcome! Looks like quite the fleet there, let's see some pics!
