Sounds like an issue in the steering column wiring...ignition switch maybe. Look that over real good and check you fuse block under there on the fire wall to see if there is any fluid leaking in to it from the master cylinder. It really sounds to me like there is a short in the column that is having an effect on the ignition switch though.

Sounds like you may have removed or blocked something that you shouldn't have. I don't believe that there is anything that you can remove or block off on these so it is likely that you did something that needs to be replaced / repaired. I have been all over mine and the only thing I can think that may be able to be done without is the EGR... :???:

Depends on how heavy that top is, but I would think a good quality gas shock would do just fine. If you need more support for the weight, I would think about adding a leaf to the spring packs out of an XJ pack maybe.

Comanches were never offered with 16" rims, so I'd say that build sheet is questionable at best. Yeah...mine says it came with 16" wheels as well when I put the VIN in the Chrysler website :shake:

We looked much better this week...except the 13 penalties for 115 yards, but we still got the win and with a final score that has never happened in NFL history... Game highlight video...

Just a quick reminder of the process since I am getting PM's, emails through this site and folks posting the orders on here. I must have the order done in this manner if you wish to get shirts as it is the only way I can be sure to keep track of the orders ;) . We are offering a lot of options here and it is quite difficult to keep straight if the process is not used as specified...and even then it is a bit of work  Thanks ya'll...and keep the orders coming

Joop...I noticed that you had it set up with your own carrier when you placed your shirt order. If I do the shipping, it will be via USPS Priority International which will likely be around $30 +/-. but it's hard to tell until I get the info I need and know about how much the package will weigh.

What's so great about a Comanche?

What is the specific benefit of the solid front axle? - Thanks -Stronger -fewer parts to break -easier to upgrade -easier to work on -easier to lift -less expensive -
That's it...you da man!!

I had to come up with a set up for mine that put a switch in the mewer style t-stat housing and used an adjustable controller for my fan when I put the new style radiator in it. It was a bit of a PITA, but it worked out well. I bought a cheaper controller so it doesn't adjust as well as I would like and I would definitely recommend getting a good SPAL controller if you are going to do it.

A little advice needed please.....
BLHTAZ replied to Jerry's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The part you have pictured is called a Throttle Actuator and is part number 83501026. Unfortunately, discontinued by Chrysler... The part number that Don posted is a similar part, but it's for a 2.5L engine, not the 2.8L ;) -
WOW... That is sweet!

I remember looking at that post not too long ago, but I can't seem to find it. I think it was something after 1997 though... :???:

That's probably a good idea Bill. While the 31's may "go on", they definitely will not "fit". I have posted this a long time ago, but the definition of "FIT" is that the tire on the vehicle will not touch/rub at any point during full articulation of the suspension or full turn to lock in both directions of the steering. Just because a tire will go on a vehicle does not mean it fits. A 31" tire needs a 3" lift to "FIT" on our trucks ;)

Drilling is the only way I have ever known/heard of, but I am not real familiar with exactly what you are doing so my advice is not particularly dependable here. ;)

Worked fine for me. Pretty cool stuff.

Yes, the stock electric fan should come on and run at all times when the A/C is on, but only come on when the coolant temp reaches the assigned level to activate the switch in the lower left side of the radiator. AFAIK Jake, you have a hard copy of the manual that I posted in .PDF format on here in the DIY forum. I think you were believing that Chico was talking about something other than the stock fan, but I may be wrong as well.

banging on the floorboard???
BLHTAZ replied to rubiconron's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It depends on exactly where the noise is. If it seems to be coming from directly under you or the passenger seat, then it's likely to be a control arm. If it's more to the center-rear of the cab then it's likely to be the tranny mount. -
If I remember right, it's up to '96 XJ. Later years will probably still work, but I am not sure about body line match up. Must be a 4 door front door.
-
You are not trying to run it in 4WD on the road are you? The 4WD is only to be used off road on loose or slippery surfaces. If used on the raod, it will not make funny noises for long as it will break and stop moving ;) .

I think the 194's are used in the tag lights too. -
I have seen that video before, but I watched the whole thing again because it is friggin' amazing.
