  1. I just got the phone call...I'm in!!! I go down for the paperwork and drug testing tomorrow morning. We're already working on the idea of coupon codes for me to supply to all of my Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge friends/family to use on the site when purchasing so that my impact on hte business can be tracked and show my value ;) .
  2. don't forget the six little steel clips on top of each injector!!! Other then that.. good run down. :D CW If you want to pull the fuel rail with the injectors still in it, don't remove those clips, just unbolt the fuel rail, detach the fuel lines and vacuum hose, then pull the rail out with injectors in place. If you remove the clips, in most cases, the injectors will stay in the manifold when you pull the rail up
  3. The info should be on the driver side of the firewall, or on the door sticker if there is any chance that it is still there and legible. I have run in to the recycled paint codes many times now...even one on a 2001 Wrangler about 10 months ago :shake: .
  4. Last 9: 9JT127088 Thanks! That shows to be paint code ' PYC ', known as Beige Gold. Well, that sure is not right. I remember the day he brought it home, and it was definately maroon! Unfortunately, it's a crap shoot getting correct VIN info on anything older than 1990 any more. Mine was actually right, but I have seen this type of discrepency many times. Sorry I didn't do you any good. Is the plate/sticker not on the left side of the firewall any more?
  5. The QYC is an exterior trim code.
  6. The Blue Tops are not made to be in a vehicle, therefore they will not last. The Blue Top is a Marine battery, not intended to be on a constant charge from an alternator, as that actually cuts the life short. Red Top and Yellow Top are for verhicular use  . I agree with Don, this is one of those subjective topics that can only end in the original poster having to sort throught the never ending opinions to arrive at his own. I will also agree that the average vehicle that does not have extra equipment on it like a winch, offroad lights, etc. will have a hard time justifying the cost other than the longer life. Average lead/acid battery life is 3 years here in Florida, regardless of which one you buy, so the gell cell is definitley worth it, as they will last at least 6-7 years--possibly more.
  7. This is absolutely wrong--they outlast regular batteries by three times in most cases. Optimas are made to be run down and recharged many times. A regular battery will not take that kind of abuse. I have used optima batteries for many years, running them dead and recharging many times with no trouble. I recently replaced a Yellow Top that I have had for nearly 9 years...and it has been dead more times than I can remember. Like anything, there can be bad ones, but for the money, there is nothing better than a deep cycle battery...the Yellow Top in particular
  8. Yes...it is a Dodge dealership in Lakeland, FL...and I just interviewed for a job there last week ;)
  9. Last 9: 9JT127088 Thanks! That shows to be paint code ' PYC ', known as Beige Gold.
  10. The current OE part number is 4728737 You can order it here if you want... http://www.wholesalemopar.com/parts_catalog.html Retail on it is $151, but that website has them for $107.15
  11. If the slave sylinder was not from the dealership, that is your problem. IF you replace the slave again, get an OE cylinder! I think this was discussed when you originally had this job done, and I (or someone) here warned you about this likelyhood at that time...didn't we? ;) Every aftermarket slave I have seen fails within 6 months :ack: :dunno: . Anyway, I really am not trying to be an @$$ and play the "I told you so" game  . My opinion here would be to go AX-15 if you have the opportunity.
  12. That would be the expected performance, yes, but these trucks--as I have found--do no do the expected with many things. If you are unsure of if/when the filter has been changed, then it's likely a good idea to change it as a preventative measure anyway.
  13. Just an add-on to that...it works fine as long as the EGR valve is closed. If it is stuck open, then it will be a problem.
  14. EGR is definitley a possibility, but I am with JT on this one for the place to start...check the fuel pressure. Has the fuel filter been replaced in recent history?
  15. :rotf: I won't know until sometime next week when the owner comes back from vacation, so everyone keep everything crossed and whatnot ;)
  16. Sorry, I guess I wasn't clear on that part, but no, your injector is not offered through Precision. I believe you can get replacements through NAPA--if I remember right. The type you have does not often need replaced, and they are usually quite expensive if you have to do so.
  17. I can try it by VIN if you want. Just send me the last 9 digits of the VIN and I will see what info is available.
  18. As stated, you have only one injector, but to answer the question of experience with Precision Injectors; there are many folks on here that have them--including me. They are top quality and my personal results were a 14% mpg increase, easier starting, smoother idle, and better acceleration. I know this doesn't help you, Skip, but hopefully it's good FYI for others. I know the owner of the business and have set up a discount deal with him for my Jeep friends, so if anyone does buy from his website, be sure to use ' JEEP ' as a discount/coupon code at checkout for 10% off.
  19. X2 After you get the mount re-attached to the engine, do a very good check on the oil filter adapter, and check the oil pan out really well. If your lucky, you might have just punched a hole in the oil filter........if not, good chance you punched a hole in the oil pan  I concur with the previous two responses
  20. Yes, with a 2WD, just put it in neutral and roll on
  21. X2 - That was my first thought as well.
  22. From his description, and what I can see in the pics, I would have to believe that this is a complete XJ front end with the bed and rear cab section from an MJ cut and welded on. The guy seems to have skills in fabrication, although his writing leaves much to be desired :teehee: . If the work is as good as it appears, I would say that it's worth $4000.
  23. It was something a friend sent to me in an email. I just cropped a screen shot of the email to post it here.
  24. Sounds, to me, like that is a good thing :rotf:
