  1. This is Cookie. She is one of two that we have runing around the house  jinx - please let us know if this works or if you still have trouble.
  2. My personal opinion, but locking lug nuts are a huge waste of time and money unless you live in an area where wheels are a VERY common theft item  . Anyone that truly intends to get your wheels will not be detered by lug nuts...they will only keep a normally good person honest  .
  3. It has been my experience that this problem is caused by corrupt cookies on your machine. Delete cookies, run a clean up, restart your computer and then try it again ;) . Don't mean to step on toes here Pete & Eagle so I apologize if I have intervened where I shouldn't.
  4. I believe that the two piece one is for cruise control and the one piece is without. That is correct...

    County Laws

That summarizes it for me... :D  As far as I have always known, the Confederate Flag is a North / South thing, not a Black / White thing. It was adopted as a symbol of Southern unity and pride, but was taken as a symbol of hatred and rebellion by those from the north. Sorry for getting way off topic here though. Counties seem to have their ways of geeting around things. I am sure if all of took the time to investigate what we are actually paying for in some of the "fees" or "assessments", we would be equally shocked and irritated.
  6. Yep...someone said that... ;) :D She is 700 ahead, but that is not likely to be enough as it has been going. We need to be sure she stays WAY ahead here. Iam doing what I can from home (and work when the boss ain't lookin') .

    stripes

I voted no, but that is only if they are in good shape. If they are cracked and peeling and make it look bad, then get rid of them. It's not real clear what condition they are in by your pic.
  8. I guess it's possible that there is something wrong with the speedo that you put in. It sounds like you have done the right things to insure that the cable is connected, so I would start being suspicious of the speedo itself. Not quite sure how to test that. I can only imagine that it might be possible to use a drill with a small screw driver bit or something similar in it to stick in the back and spin it to see if it works???
  9. Nice catch Yep...don't think I would have thought of that one...not right off anyway. I was thinking that the distributor was off by a tooth or two.
  10. They are 1/2" / 20 thread.
  11. Actually...the temp sender is on the left (driver side) rear of the head, but I believe he has already done that ;) . I have heard that the guage can be calibrated, but I don't know how and would be interested in that as well. The oil pressure sounds fine to me...possibly reading a little low, but nothing to worry about. Hell, mine stays at 28 all the time with the engine running or not :brows:  .
  12. :laughin: Looks like we all misunderstood that one. Shimming the stops is a commonly done thing and should cause no problem other than losing turning radius. ;)
  13. I got mine at 4 Wheel Parts. They are not solid stainless, but rather solid chromed...not capped. I paid .50 cents each for them so 40 of them cost me $20 :D
  14. OK...here is mine. The reading at the t-stat housing location as asked for was 198. The reading at the temp sender in the rear of the head was 215. The guage showed dead on 210 after driving 16 miles with the AC on Max and the outside temp at 94. My Fuji FinePix S700 :brows: took this pic less than one minute after shutting the engine off.
  15. Buy stock in batteries. Kodak's like to eat them up! ABSOLUTELY...I have a Kodak too and it eats 3 sets of batteries to every one set in my Fuji.
  16. The TrXus MT was never available in that size. The widest it was ever available in is a 10.5" in the 31" flavor. Yep...I didn't even pay attention to the type of tire he said. I run the same tire (31x10.50 TrXus MT) with my 3.5" RE lift and have no problems with them on wheels using a 3.75" backspace.
  17. Nice shots. Always fun to get out and enjoy the day in a Jeep
  18. I use this one... :D
  19. I went with this one from Protofab4X4 on the front. I have done nothing with the rear yet. This front one weighs 96 lbs..
  20. I'll check mine for you tomorrow as it has already cooled off tonight
  21. You wouldn't want to try this with the stock lines, but you will be OK for daily use. I have the 3.5" Rubicon Express lift on mine using the stock lines, but it is a poser that never goes off the pavement ;) :D .
  22. Hopefully you mean that you are going to shim the steering stops and you are not trying to space the wheels out with washers...  I know two people personally that have Rusty's kits and they both would tell you very quickly to send it back and buy a good kit. Rusty's stuff does not have a good track record. :chillin: 31x12.50 is a wide tire and you will have some rubbing, but it shouldn't be bad if you are not doing any real serious offroading. ;)
  23. Yes, a definite score, but you would have to find someone that is either VERY desperate or VERY stupid to pay $650 for that rear axle. $300 - $400 ... maybe and that would still be a little high. Personally, I would never give more than $200 - $250 for one unless it was already geared & locked. Sorry to get off track. I wish I could come across one like that ( as I'm sure most guys on here do), but I just don't have that kind of good fortune.
  24. If you have the means without causing yourself grief, then by all means get it. They are hard to find in good shape.
  25. The 285's on stock wheels would probably be a little tight on the inside. You would need a little less BS to run those. I would run a 32x11.50 on a wheel with about 3.75" BS personally...but, like Pete said, the purpose has a lot to do with this decision too.
