Anyone ever been there or know anything about it...?? Don't think I could survive eating there much, but I sure would love to own one ;) Here is the site... http://www.heartattackgrill.com/ Here is some visual aid... :D

 Welcome... The 2.5L engines are a pretty dependable motor and can get rather good gas mileage when fixed up and running well. I would definitely not give $1000 for something that needed that much work...$80 is more than fair for that.

I am suprised that they are selling it off as salvage. It looks like a repairable truck in the pics. I wonder what they get for something like that? It would be a sweet deal though...Cummins diesel 4WD chassis

Must be a bad one as most hernia's are not visible...just quite painful.

Signs I might need new u-joints
BLHTAZ replied to jtdesigns's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
yeah the tires need slip so when it hops the tire is essentially doing a burnout. unlike a rear end which squeals a front end has much more weight and eventually the torque overpowers the tire and it hops. kinda cool science but a bugger on the road Exactly...and remember that using 4WD on surfaces that it is not needed on can cause damage if you don't already have it. It can break axle shafts, u-joints or even t-cases. -
For now we are just doing the rod bearings and the oil pump. We'll see what happens once we get in there and get a good look at them though. Our engine tech said that the mains are "very rarely ever a problem". My oil pan should not be a big deal this time as it was just off about 6 months or so ago to do the rear main and the clutch slave so it has the newer, re-useable style gasket on it already. I will get pics and start my own thread, or better yet...post this in my build thread when we get it done next week ;) . Might even make a DIY post out of it if I can.

If you have a real long screwdriver put the tip up anainst various parts of the engine and the handle up to your ear, usually you will be able to trace odd noises. Does that really work? Yes...it is "possible" to trace noises that way. I have done it with success on some things and not on others...just depends on what it is.

Yep...I got them. They are great!! The only thing I had trouble with was the ones I got were made wit hpoly bushings in them and they were very noisy. I contacted Tom and he sent me the rubber ones that they are now using free of charge  I used them in conjunction with the Rubicon Express 3.5" Super Ride kit in the front and it came out perfect. The load capacity I got is the same as the stock springs that it came with which was 980lbs as far as I remember. They do offer the heavier duty sets if you want them with a rating of 1440lbs or something about that.

Your kidding right...I was counting on that It was a diag fee...I never said I would fix it... Don't make me break bad now...

That is disappointing news as I really thought that it was the cat from what I could hear in that video. My truck had a rattle/tap noise in it when I first got it, but it was constant and it turned out to be just a broken valve spring.

Well...I'm joining the low OP gang here. Mine is idling at 12 lbs and goes to a max of 40. I just ordered bearings and an oil pump for it... :chillin: I just had it diagnosed by our engine guy here while I was on my lunch break. I'll start my own post about it next week when we get in to it, but just wanted to share my news of the day... :chillin:

You will get binding and popping noises if you try to turn sharp in 4WD...even if you are on a dirt or gravel road. I obviously can't say for sure what the issue is or may be, but it sounds like a normal reaction to something that it doesn't like to do to me. -
There are some crazy people out there  . It's funny to read some of the comments about this on the other forums too... :chillin:

One of the suppliers that we buy from has come out with some new hats. I don't know that they are out anywhere yet as I have searched the net a little and did not find them. We (my wife & I) were thinking of doing a group buy. Some of you know that we have a small home based business on the side making custom Jeep T-Shirts and we buy & resell hats and some other Jeep/4X4 stuff at times. We would like to be able to offer these hats in our line, but they require a minimum quantity purchase so we thought that this would be a way to offfer a good deal to some fellow Jeepers and get a decent jump start to our inventory. We would need a minimum order of 25 hats to make this work...so...who would be up for it? The only catch is...we have to get orders and money in within 10 days so this poll will run for 3 days and then if there is enough interest I will set up a classified ad with complete purchase information. Price for this deal would be $15.50 including shipping via First Class Mail. Regular selling price will be $15.99 + shipping. Image Not Found Image Not Found

8) Looks like a solid start to a project

Nice... Is it just the way it's parked or does it have some lift on it already?
-
AB = anti-brakes  :laughin: Not quite...It's just Chryslers way of telling us (dealership) that something has changed. The only two reasons that Chrysler updates a part number like that are a physical change being made to the part (brakes removed) or a change of supplier (no change...still Dana).
-
X2 That's what I have done before.

If it helps with anyones search, here are the part numbers for the JK D44 axles... Front - P5153825AB Rear - P5153826AB If you can find the ones without the "AB" on the end, they will likely still have the brakes on them, but the "AB" denotes the new versions without.

:laughin: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: That's a funny post to be right after yours Jake (Akula69). I'll let him elaborate... :brows:

I don't know about making another "sticky" as they start piling up and it gets to be too much. Maybe a post in the DIY forum with this type of info. I personally don't think the Renix is that bad. I own an HO as well and I was quite pleased with the power of the Renix when we got it as I was expecting a pig, but found it quite impressive.

You are correct. This is a great place and Pete deserves the cudos. These guys are just playing and Pete will know that and not be offended  :D

OK...fess-up...you found those pics elsewhere on the net and you are just trying to F&^% with us to see what kind of reaction you can get :brows: . One thing has been proven to me again here. Wether this is real or not, this site shows it's true grit of good people. Had someone posted something like this on most other Jeep or 4X4 forums, they would have been ripped to shreds by now...but, not here  .

Great story ;) You shoould sell the shop and start writing fiction books/novels :D
