  1. Your PSI is in the ballpark, and should be sufficient.
  2. My 2.5 w/4spd cruised the hwy at 70 & gets the same MPG as my 4L w/auto. It dies when it hits a hill but thats to be expected & why I bought the one w the 4L. With it I need to blow the horn to get the ricers outa the way on the hills.
  3. This photo is NASON Flu-Cryl II paint job. Easy to use paint, just follow inst on back of can. Sprayed on in May. No problemsImage Not Found[/img]
  4. Sorry lost it somewhere!!!!!!
  5. Wonder who builds these things
  6. If you took the freeways to NYC you must have been dragging your feet for the roughly 400 miles as you only averaged 50 MPH for 8 hours. Are ther lots of traffic lights on your inter-states ;) ?
  7. http://www.naxja.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=66 Check out the NW Chapter. These guys go to the woods in MJ & XJ's. Lot of nice people belong.
  8. I had the same shaking/vibration symptons in my 89 with new tires and just about a new suspension undet it. Thought it was tires, balance, shocks, & other things, until I finally, by accident, eliminated the problem when I added 1/8" shims to increase my caster so steering would return to center after cornering. Haven't had a vibe since. Years ago I experienced the same thing when I had a broken (worn out) motor mount. Under accel. it viberated bad, but back off on it and it was near normal. Have you looked at those areas?
  9. I had a liner sprayed in called Reflex. It retains its shiny color longer they claim by not chalking as quickly as most liners. And they can color match it to your truck. Prices vary by jobber. By driving 15 miles down the road I got it done for $75 less than the local yokel wanted. Here in the NW prices were quoted from 300 to 500 depending on size of vehicle, application thickness desired, and whether or not you wanted it sprayed up under the bed edges. In the photo below you see a $400 job as I choose the medium thickness, & up under bed edge spray job. Its been 6 months & it hasnt peeled off or faded out yet. Am I happy with it, yes, mainly because I didn't want to mess with it, and it appears so far to be better quality liner than I have seen in many new trucks. In a year, who knows. Image Not Found
  10. For highway cruising stability/roadability he slams it, for off road (it may/may not be 4x4) he jacks it 8" front, 10" rear. I can't do that. A dual purpose vehicle. Great for getting clearance over road kill that stinks.
  11. Try car-part.com. Enter pertinent data & go. There are 14 entries for your (Pitts.) area. Some beds good, some bad. One outfit is even selling blue like new bed sides only.
  12. did it. MJ wandered all over the road, especially in curves and dips, so I had replaced worn track bar and tie rods & adjusted wheel bearing torque etc.. It still had effortless steering (you know, like your not in control) and wandered when yuh least expected it to. So today out of curiosity I made a couple of 1/8" shims and placed them in back of the LCA along with the 2 already in there & bolted it up. What a diff, there is now a lil resistance feel in the steering and it tracks great w/no wanderiong, I have no idea what the caster spec is suppose to be on an MJ, but I must have got lucky & hit it right on. :D
  13. Yeah, they always seem to want to challange my 96 El dorado at the lights. I'll give them half an intertsection jump (chirp) and pull even as we cross out of the intersection. I usually yell out "Do you wanty to try half a block at the next light" They never respond, I think the howl of them tires and smok-un rubber scares the s--- out of em. NO BALLS I guess. Pisses my wife off though as she always yells "For christ's sake your 70 years old, when you gonna quit this nonsense". I always respond "What the hell, if you hadn't given up sex at 60 I wouldn't have to look for cheap thrills.".
  14. Sparks & batteries don't mix. Years ago after just recharging the battey  I was splicing the headlight wires back together on my 41 Ford while leaning over the battery when a hot wire slipped out of my hand. Needless to say when it grounded the explosion, blasted off my chest & kicked my a-- half way across the garage. I was one lucky dude as the battery top came off in one piece and not sharpnel and directed most of the acid away from me. Running for a water hose with your eyes shut is a b----.
  15. What, not up to the challenge? If your quick with the plug you can fill to top & maybe catch it  half-way to the bottom edge of the hole. Serves no useful purpose, but, its fun to try if you don't mind oil possibly down to your elbow.
  16. On 88 - 89 black is ground at tail lights.

    Bed Liner

This liner (Reflex) cost is based on bed length, liner thickness, and extra if you want it sprayed over the rails. PNW cost. In my case 6'bed 300, 3/16 thick $50 and over the rails $50 . Probally could have got a can of stuff at local NAPA for 75 & a roll it on, but, being the basiclly lazy person I'am, that wasn't an option. Besides that stuff in all cases I've seen fades out & chalks up real quick. This stuff is suppose to "stay shiny for a couple years". HHmmm, will have to wait & see on that.

    Bed Liner

Yup, that's orange peel (not peal, which is a ding dong) and a tape line. S--- happens when your painting in a barn under one inadequate fluorescent light in a dust storm. Lot of surprises appear when you roll it outside in the light. Oh well, it will get buffed out by brush & trees before long.

    Fresh Paint

The paint used was Nason Ful-Cryl II Metalic. Color is VW code LK2Y which consists of bright alum., maroon, red, gold, black & a bronze pearl. Not suppose to need a clear coat on it but it got some anyway. Have to use a sealer over the old paint and primer to insure an even color. I did the gopher work and my son-law shot the paint. My hands stlill ache from sanding & scuffing.
