  3. Some of you CC guys are always expressing what you would give/do for a new chrome bumper, well, here's a new chrome bumper on Portland craigslist. http://portland.craigslist.org/clk/pts/1479932317.html
  4. Get a marine attena that swivels. Just loosen the knurled knob and tilt the antenna in a 180 arc, or any angle you choose. I have mine mounted on the bed right behind the cab and can reach out the drivers window and drop it before I go into the garage or when I'm out in the boonies. I have a whip on it that reaches to the back edge of the bed and I can clip it down on the inside edge of the bed to keep it out of the way when necessary. Here a pic of my old one. Beats the heck out of getting in/out of rig to adjust it or having to remove it all the time. Having it off set just to the outside edge of bed also lets you mount a cap without having to remove it. 6. Couplle tubes of silicone caulking maybe in lieu of rubber. :dunno:
  7. Well the swapped in 242 works fine. No modifications were needed to any parts involved. Basicly a direct exchange of TC's. Was able to adj the linkage just enough to squeez the extra shift position into the existing shift lever mechanism. I will dremel a little here and there to enlongate the throw just a smidge to ensure a little better engaement at each end of 2H & 4L.
  8. I think they resolved your concern

    HEY ALASKA

Ft Wainwright not bad in winter, just use the tunnels to get to the base clubs.
  11. Finally swapped the 231 for the 242 this afternoon. Took about 2 1/2 hours. alot of that time spent on upper bolts. Will bolt in rear drive shaft in morning & try it out. Cost: Under $50 for the 242 & new seals. Now I'm gonna have a couple 231's to sell.

Take a tour of Fairbanks and check out the huge gold nugget on dispaly at the Univ there. Locals promised great fishing in nearby lakes. Three days fish-un, no fish, should have tried the river I guess. :dunno:

  21. Envy, envy, eny.. but, damn, they don't even get dirt on their clothes when they crawl under the cars. Oh, sorry must have had a mental slip, they don't do that.
  22. If you have an 87 - 90 MJ with an automatic it uses the short shift tab bolted to the TC so that the tab swings down and back, and the long linkage from the shift lever is pressed into the grommet on the tab from the near side of the TC. I
  23. Nice drink.
  24. Thats old Willys could pass for the one I bought from a farmer back in 1988 between Bend & Redmond for a $100. Didn't have a brush guard on it though. Did have a 48 Ford flathead in it & PTO winch. I had newer plates than those.
