What does this do for the rear leafs?
CEThomas replied to mfpdm's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yes, we had / have them on our MJ. Moved them up so you can use them ;) The guy that put them in that location had to know you could not use them  -
Yes, but I am thinking that it may have sucked air into it while working on the other problem.
-
Well, got the O-ring out and no longer have air on the rear system  But......... No peddle yet and the brake light comes on every time you push the peddle
-
Thanks Going out and try now
-
Where is the O-ring located????
-
Thanks, that is the link that I used to do the swap. I have checked part numbers and the 97 XJ master is the same as the 97 ZJ master. So to swap the 97 XJ master with the ZJ will not help
-
Well it was a good try, but I just checked the part numbers and the master cylinder # is the same for a 97 xj & 97 ZJ
-
I would like to get one like that so I could put a small diesel in for a cheep DD :brows:
-
Thanks, Look for a good deal on a 97 master cylinder and booster ;)
-
Great  Anyone know if the ZJ master will work on the XJ booster?? Looks like I will have a 97 XJ master for sale cheep :D
-
Where would I find the pressure retention valve at???
-
No, we pulled the load level valve out when we got the MJ. All the pads are OK, but do not know about the master. Did 97 xj run drums or disc brakes??? When I pull vac everything is great on the front system but I get a lot of air on the rear. Today at one point we started to get some peddle then the next time I went to bleed the rear we lost what we had and back to where we started.
-
Yes, wish that was it ;) Charles

Well I have been fighting with the brakes after I put in the 8.8 axle. I have changed out the master cylinder and brake lines, but just can not get the system to bleed  I have used a vac system, the old fashion way, I have done the master cylender and all 4 calipers  and 2 big bottles later it has not changed  peddle is mushy, brake light comes on when you step on the peddle and brakes are poor at best  Oh and I have fluid at all 4 calipers  The prop valve I have came with the 97 booster / master cylender, I did not see the XJ it came out so I do not know if it had antilock. Anyone knows if the prop valve is different on the antilock XJ's? Charles

Then you would have loved my first car. I had a situation no 16 year-old should have: My neighbor worked at Sig Erson Cams and buily sprint car motors for fun. I'm lucky to have survived owning a 13 second, 4000 pound car with drum brakes. That's a '72 El Camino 12 bolt with 4.56's and a lincoln locker you're looking at. And I bet you would love to have it back ;) Sure wish I had the wisdom back when I was a young pup as I do now and would have kept that old mustang I had :D

Forget that  I do all the gro. shopping and a few weeks ago I was having a fit trying to find canned goods that was from the good old :USAflag: and it was not Wallmart

pingpong Check out this site, unless things have changed in the past few months you can get an all :USAflag: jacket. http://www.allamericanclothing.com/index.php

Yes, we have to take a stand, and we need to make things better for our kids. But it takes a lot more then posting here. It makes me mad when someone makes the statement "I am with you" and " we have to buy American " but yet they will go out and buy something from China or support a company that is moving production to China and will try to justify it  In our world now it takes knowing who you are dealing with when you buy something and be willing to pay for "made in the USA" Cooper tire is a good one. You think you are dealing with a American Co. and American tires when they and moving more and more operations to China and having a lot of tires made by Kinda Tire. The USA needed to take charge 20yrs ago, now it's to late to turn the tide. We can only do what we can, and support the small American Co :USAflag:

Do not get me wrong, I am a buy american guy. But in times like this the bottom line is what it's about  As for the list  When I was a kid, all my toys and bed was painted with lead paint  Did not have a car seat, mom held me or put me on the back seat to sleep 8) And when she was holding me she did not have hre seat belt on due to the fact the car did not have them :D Some of the items on the list needs taken care of, other items jsut need the parents to use some common sense and watch over the kids.

Soon as we finish up a couple more things and get tags, we will be looking for something larger to flex on
