I had 32s on 4.5" of lift with stock steering for a while. No hard core wheeling done, Just moderate, but never had problems. The stock stuff was wore out though, needed new tie rod ends ect. Instead of replacing it with stock I got the Serious Offroad UTK 1-ton steering. Very happy with it beside the fact that it doesn't allow the clearance needed for a aftermarket diff cover. I now have 9.5" of lift and 35s with the same steering. I have just drove it around the block a couple of times though cause I haven't got it insured and registered yet. However it works great, other than the stock power steering really struggles with the 35s...

I agree in texas it is a requirement for a/c. So since I bought a mj from canada with no a/c, I have two choices....... move to Canada and leave the truck how it is, or install A/C into it. I'm leaning towards the moving to Canada option.

Mine doesn't have AC. It is a Canadian truck though. Also came with a block warmer.

I have been meaning to share this with the Comanche Club family for a couple months now. Me and my Wife got married on May 2nd, 2016. On our wedding day I was given a gift by her maid of honor while me and my boys were getting ready. With the gift came a card, it read, " I had this made so you could have your 2nd love with you on our wedding day also :) " I was gifted a hand drawn picture of my Comanche on the Matagorda, Tx jetties (where we grew up). The drawing was done by a good friend and old co- worker of mine that majored in art. She drew the piece from a picture I took a few years ago. My wife told me that it took her about 5 months to do it and I can't believe how much detail and how realistic it looks. After I picked my jaw back up from the truly awesome gift I had just received, all I could think about was how grateful I was to have found someone as special as my wife to spend the rest of my life with. Not to mention, a woman that is willing to put up with my Comanche obsession. Here is a picture of the drawing next to the real thing, and she even drew the Comanche Club decal on the back window! :D . :MJ 1: .

I need help... Overheating problem
Zebvance replied to Thepepenator's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I use nothing but the 50/50 sold at any store. But thank you for this! I will put the thermostat back on before working on the water pump. Just some buddies and my dad suggested that it works better without the thermostat and I have it a shot. AMC/Jeep payed engineers a lot of money to design a cooling system that works the most efficiently it can. Just like every manufacturer also, A thermostat was designed to help the cooling system. Car manufactures don't like wasting money, they are trying to cut cost in every way they can to stay competitive in a market saturated with to many competitors. They are not going to waste one dime on putting something in a car that does not need to be if they can help it. The thermostat in a car is just as important as the radiator and water pump. Put a new one back in there and one rated to the temp that it came from the factory with. I believe it was 190. Also, How many miles is on the engine and is it the 4 or 6 cylinder. Has it been showing any signs of head gasket failure? Loosing coolant, sweet smell in the exhaust, not running smooth? -
I went a looked back at what my results were and these where it. The shop did this test after I got the RMS replaced bu then and it blew it out after 20 miles. Then the tech supposed hooked up a pressure gauge to the crank case and said I was getting 7psi in the crank case at 30 mph... Dry Test Cylinder 1 - 125 psi Cylinder 2 - 100-105 psi Cylinder 3 - 145 psi Cylinder 4 - 130-135 psi Cylinder 5 - 140-145 psi Cylinder 6 -140 psi

I'm not a expert, I'm just a guy that has been dealing with the exact same issues as you over the past 3 years. Also I have replace every vaccum line a ccv line and sensor there is. Have terrible gas miliage and its running so rich it almost knocks you on the ground if you stand behind it. So much so that I have black sut all over my rear axle truss from the exhaust. Its always running a little warm during the summer and its a struggle to keep it from over heating in the texas 100 degree weather at low speeds in 4wd. and its very low on power. so much so I can't even brake the tires loose on payment if it tried.

I Have similar compression results. And the same other symptoms. I blown out rms and every other new gasket in the jeep. Have a descent amount of blow by also. My reasoning behind all my problems is that the combustion pressure is getting past the rings that are showing wear and building up crank case pressure, in turn with causing seals to fail. Basically I got to keep the oil topped off and ride her out until I have the money to rebuild the engine.

Why is the locker/open detail important? if the axle has one or not should have nothing to do with the size of the axle tube and ubolts..... :hmm:

PLEASE SHARE Do you mean share/explain what...how...or why? Measure, buy, install. One of my strap/strut/hinges was bent. Noticed I could put cables on it like newer trucks instead. Felt it was a good upgrade. Readily available in various lengths with proper fittings on both ends. Did you reuse the bracket on the tail gate an drill out the rivet? I can see attaching to the beside being no problem but what route did you take fabrication wise at the tailgate?
-
PLEASE SHARE
-
He may be wanting to replace them for the same reason I want to replace mine. Tons of play and always getting in a bind when I try to close the tailgate. usually take 2-3 times for me.
-
I believe they are riveted on to a bracket and then the bracket is bolted on.

KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!

replace your coil, plugs and wires and see if that helps at all.

it looks to have the exact same lines to me.... the windshield is SLIGHTLY more back at a angle but that is it..... what do yall see that I'm not pete?

We have a samsung fridge, it is the biggest piece of junk ever. Very expensive and have had it repaired multiple times. Keeps leaking and its a never ending problem.....meanwhile the cheapo hot point no thrills attached garage fridge that I have is 26 years old....... never had one problem with it and works like a champ. Moral of my rambling: just cause it has a big price tag doesn't mean its better, and the more fancy accessory on something, is more to go wrong on it.
-
That would be something I'm not knowledgeable on. hopefully someone else will chime in.

yes and no. When the motor is cold there may not be a air leak via hair line crack or warped mating surface, but when the engine is warm the the metal could expand or contract in certain places and open up a leak that wasn't there when It was 200 degrees cooler. Also, when you are giving the truck "gas" the engine is gasping for air in the head to accommodate the right air to fuel mixture in the combustion chamber, sucking it through seepage points that do not show them self's until a certain negative pressure is reached in the intake/head. However, I would also think that it would be shown in a compression test but I have seen a lot more odd things happen.
-
Did you resurface the head and have it mic'ed for warpage or cracks before you reused it.... When replacing a head gasket because it has failed and the engine has overheated, replacing it and not checking and resurfacing the head before you put a new head gasket is about as good as brushing your teeth without tooth paste...

I had a pair of 32 11.50 15s. Ran them for 4 years and put about 10k on them. I felt they wore pretty quickly, rode fine great in mud and sand. cleaned out very well, and were pretty quite for a mud tire the first 5000 miles. After that they started to get kinda loud but not near as bad as some mud tires. I would buy them if you are looking for a aggressive cheap tire.
