You have a Pull-a-Part near you? Mine had decent amount of them, actually I had a hard time finding a 4.10 open axle. Only had one explorer sport with one in it, I got lucky. I don't think there are any open 8.8 in 3.55. Why wouldnt you want the limited slip? :hmm: Put a Spartan locker in it. Gotcha, I didnt know that you couldnt put a locker in a limited slip dif. you can but you have to change out the carrier I think

Now this is my question, First why would I need a offset ball joint in the first place if nothing is bent? If I put normal ball joints in and it has camber them my logic says something is messed up somewhere right? Net how would I even start to fig out what degree ball joint i needed if I was to use offset ones to correct he problem?

Surprisingly I guess it looks as if my axle is not bent now?I jacked it up and the tire had no camber with no weight on it... However NO PLAY IN BALL JOINTS EITHER!!!! ugh I'm confused.... I'm not sure I know they are way off cause I just got done doing the steering. But that should have nothing to do with the camber of the tire correct. The camber on a Soild axle is non adjustable and I have negitive camber. My ball joints have no play, so therefore my axle or knuckles are best correct?

Yea not sure exactly how I bent them but the ball joints are good and everything else checks out. Did some Measurements and they are def bent.

Bent my dana 30 tubes. want to swap to a stronger axle. I just did a 8.8 swap in the rear and I'm putting on serious off-roads 8 inch long arm lift right now. The truck is a beach rig and will be running 35-37 inch tires. I know everyone is against my lift/tire size choice, but I'm building the rig for what I use it for. COG is not a issue for me since it is just a beach rig and not a crawler. So I know the driver drop narrow track waggy d44 is a popular swap but what years did they come in. Yes you could say that. Manly because know body buys a jeep to lower it and make it non Offroad capable anymore. Not that there is anything wrong with what you are wanting to do.

Idk how that would work. It would take a trmemdous amount of fab and lift. The twin beam set up is bolted to the frame by three points. The left and right radius arms and then to a crossmember under the engine. I'm not sure how you would be able to create a cross member under the 4.0 and attach it to the unibody. Much less do it with a neg amount of lift. Clearance would be a huge issues.

I don't get it. Then Benz engines are great. But have now power at all. My roommate has a 80 300sd. Slow as balls. Can barely break the tires loose on dirt. Numbers on this motor a equally not impressive and far as power is concerned.
