  1. If you can find the little piece of "cable" it makes an incredible difference. Any kind of small thin cable, do you have an old bicycle? Look at the brake cable, strip it down a little and there you go. Another thing that is mandatory for an easy job is a good supply of razor blades for your utility knife.
  2. Thats good to know for me because i will be using a 99 7120 head, but retaining the Renix exhaust manifold. If i understood correctly no matter what head you use you need the gasket that matches the manifold? Ex. HO head + Renix Manifold = Renix exhaust manifold gasket
  3. What is NOS? and i think you ment lower right hand side of the picture.
  4. That head won't work with your 4.0 intake, you will have to sell and find another. I believe the head off of an HO will be the best path for you, better flowing head but will still be a direct bolt on for your intake manifold. But if you want to be 100% sure the next head will be the right one get it off of an MJ/XJ between the years 87-90 How do you know your head is bad? Obvious crack? Could be just a head gasket.

  6. This, if you've got one or live by a PnP that has and you would be willing to remove it for me i'd like to buy it.
  7. Huh? :hmm: The first part yes, and also this is easier and cheaper than getting the adapter plate for the renix TB.
  8. probably, :rotf:
  9. When i first read this i was like " :hmm: is he stupid?" and then i read the next line down :laughin: You really had me goin
  10. I'd say your lucky, removing he window with it still glued in place is a major PITA, Now you have a golden oppourtunity to take it out completely and seal it up good and tight. Very easy to do, the hard part is just removing it, which is obviously been done for you. this will help with removal and reinstallment http://comancheclub.com/topic/18397-removal-and-replacement-of-my-slider-back-window/page__hl__window
  11. But why? Ring installed upside down? Poor cylinder hone?
  12. Chemical/Pressure whatever you fancy test the pressure in the cylinders Answer: Head Gasket
  13. I say Nissan, Dodge, or Ford. I know i might get banned for this but i like my little toys almost as much as i like my Comanche.

  16. OOOhh thats nice.
  17. Check coolant level and pressure cap.
  18. Do i want to know how much that aluminum cost?
  19. Only one i have heard of. Great motors, but Cummins are just to darn heavy
  20. First time i have ever tried this, i think it turned out pretty good. Insullation, batting, new carpet. Havent gotten to drive it yet but on a real windy day its near silent in the cab, doors shut and windows up
  21. Dude that looks freakin awesome  Even if i didnt have rust, which i do, i would put those on. What exactly did you use? obviously rivets, but what gauge steel and i guess a plasma torch?
  22. Assuming your coolant level is good, you could have a multitude of issues. Plugged radiator won't let coolant flow, T-stat won't open, plugged water jacket in block, water pump fins have corroded away. The last one is highly unlikely, but still possible. I would start with a good flush and check to see if the T-stat is working. Put it in a pot of boiling water. Also check to see if the front of the radiator is blocked with depris, leafs, grass, etc. . .
  23. I thought the same at first, but when i got to thinking, i thought what an awesome testament to the resilance of jeep, the 4.0 and our beloved comanches.
  24. Nice! I really like the blue paint job. I would KILL to know where to get that rear bumper. Sun roof? Previous owner install? The rust on the floor boards is actually pretty darn good, meaning not much. 4.0, 5spd, 4x4 sounds like a great start. Any idea which 5spd you have? Overall i really dig how its looks, blue paint, chrome front/grill, black fenders. I like
