Put the 4.3 in your Jeep. You'll have a badass and unique Jeep. Putting the 4.3 in your 2.5 is probably just as hard as putting the 4.0 in there.

The South American XJ 44's were not true 44's. High Pinion 44 center section, but the rest of the axle is all 30. It was essentially a predecessor to the Rubicon 44.

Why would there be a trade-off? Aren't you going to disconnect your swaybar when leaving the pavement? Quick disconnects can be made for ~$10.
