  1. Image Not Found Go to the back of the store, Oreillys, Advance, NAPA, and look through all the hoses, you will find something that will work. The above- The heater valve is 4.0 and is all that's available, the part number is shown in the pic for a molded hose that is about 3' long....who knows what it fits.....who cares what it fits.......make it work. You'll also find short molded hoses that will work with the 4.0 thermo housing. I tell the counter guys to give me what I want........not what there little idiot boxes tell them I want.
  2. I think you are correct. Image Not Found
  3. That is a 4.0 thermostat housing......not a 2.5. I will post pics for you tonight.
  4. Very, very nice! I like a stock look.
  5. Are you referring to the original stock window? Does anyone have any pics or writeup regarding the removal and installation of the rear window? I will be taking mine out for paint.
  6. "Clacking" That is the sound I got when my trans mount went. The clacking was the exhaust pipe hitting the cross member under acceleration, as the engine/trans twisted the pipe made contact with the cross member. That's why I suggested you look at those. Bearing don't 'clack'. But ducks do quack.
  7. No, I didn't. It was a cold morning about a month ago, I had the wife and son with me and we stopped at the local salvage yard, I left the truck running to keep them warm while I was looking for some plate to build my hitch with. Just because a switch has a stated heat range does not mean it will operate within that range, or in my case can it be trusted to operate at all. Yes, each of the TPS lasted about a year.

  9. He's saying that you will need to have your rear drive shaft shortened. If you have to do it in one day......make arrangements to have your shaft worked on the same day.
  10. BTW, the over pressure also blew out my heater valve. Had to be towed from another town too. The whole situation sucked.
  11. Below is the result of the second BWD fan switch failure. I will do whatever I can to avoid BWD from now on. I've gone through 4 TPS (MJ and XJ, 2 each), went to a Standard brand brake switch after the BWD melted. I've had numerous other parts fail in the last year and a half but that's another story. I got the Spal delivered today. With the BWD the temp would rise just after the 210 mark before it would begin to cycle, temp gauge was never constant at idle. I installed the Spal tonight, let it idle for more than 30 minute, the gauge never moved, not once. Fan cycle became predictable and gauge remained at about 195 the entire time. I'm just making a shout out for Spal, finally something worked as it should. Summit will beat their price- http://www.racerpartswholesale.com/product/2138/SPAL_Fan_Accessories2 Image Not Found
  12. You use the existing harness to trigger the relays in your new harness.......not a matter of swapping but adding to. I create my own harness.
  13. Been running Lucas and motor oil in the front axle and final drives on my tractor for a year now........it's all good. I'll let you know how it works out in my AX5. No fear.
  14. I can no longer tolerate the odor of gear oil. I will not pay $68 a quart for Redline. I have another trans that will go in in the next week or two, it will get 1qt of Havoline 40 and 1qt of Lucas.......and it will be damn happy with it too. :P Nascar uses motor oil in engines that twist 9800rpm for 4-5 hours but we don't trust it in a gear box to tool round town........lol........
  15. I replaced mine yesterday, new one has not lasted 24 hours and now it leaks. I did notice the same thing about the pedal not being in line with the master and the rod not going straight in. I'm ordering one last one and I'll bend the rod as you did......we'll see.
  16. Thanks for the reply. I'll see if it's still there this week.
  17. Lucas oil stabilizer....50/50 with oil.
  18. Bad trans mount will cause exhaust pipe to rattle against cross member.
  19. Raleigh Road Outdoor Theatre, one of seven outdoor drive-in screens in North Carolina, is hoping to raise $65,000 by Feb. 8 so that it can make the switch. Read more here: http://www.newsobserver.com/2013/12/26/3486980/henderson-drive-in-theater-raising.html#storylink=cpy
  20. We at the Midtown wish to thank all of our loyal and dedicated customers that have supported us this year. We are closed for the 2013 season. Due to the movie industry's decision to quit making 35 MM film after 2013, the Midtown Drive-In will close as a Theatre. If there is a few movie companies that by chance change there policy and do continue to distribute movies on film then we may can run a limited schedule in 2014. We will keep the web-site up until that time to see what our fate may be. Thanks to our many loyal customers for sharing the great time we had. 21. Rob I would go with Cibie then. BTW, I've read quite a few of Stern's write-ups in the past.....if you order from him, let us know how it went.
  22. Post a good high watt bulb........I've blown out a couple sets already. 55/65 blues work well.....but then I have other lights too that fill in the shadows.........so........
  23. Just checked ebay........seller no longer listing. If the Hellas are $87 for the PAIR??? that is a pretty good deal and you can't go wrong. I'd buy Hella again. In fact we have three pair of Hella on the XJ, two spots and two driving, along with the headlights.
