  1. Small world Guy takes a video of a viper driving down the road. Another guy posts the video on another forum. Another guy sees the post and notifies the owner of the viper. The viper owner in turn contacts me to prove a mutual point (not relevant here.) Now I'm wondering if the owner of the Mj is here on this board.

    Stuck in a rut

Boss waited til I bought a new car (06 Mustang - first brand new car in 11 years) and fired me three days later. Now I'm unemployed and broke with a new car payment. And I can't sell the car because of the depreciation. Yeah, its going to be a very merry xmas at my house this year
  3. Some cities diliberately slowed down the time of the yellow light after ticket revenue began declining. Offically NHTSA says there should be 1 second for every 10mph of speed limit (55mph zone should have a 5.5 second yellow.) Washington DC dropped some of its lights down to 2 seconds resulting in about 5000 more citations per yer - per camera. Very profitably little bastages...
  4. No one questions the ability of these cameras to stop people from running red lights - its a matter of government involvment that gets peoples hackles up. Here in DE (same as Virginia as a matter of fact - do your own research) you can be sued for stopping short and causing an accident. I've been sued for this very thing. And to make matters worse, in my state you have no recourse to a camera citation - you are automatically guilty with no option to appeal - that's tax collection, not law enforcement. Do a little research and you'll discover that these cameras are now being used in Texas and Ohio for speeding and Washington and Salisbury MD for driver identifcation (ie the use of facial recognition to ID drivers operating cars on a suspended license.) So where does it end? Given the choice no terrorist can hold a candle to the fear and control Big Borther can inflict.
  5. Pete got me too... Vmag refugee...
  6. That'll buff right out...
  7. I lost my job last week so I was forced to sell of my Satellite project over the weekend. It was sad to see her go, but realistically I just didn't have the time.
  8. From personal experience - if you booby-trap your car against theft you can be sued by theif when he/she gets hurt (to the tune of about $5500 + court costs and lawyer fees ... ... ... hypothetically speaking.)
  9. Na... I mean how hard can it be to get a new title?
  10. Yeah, but that there be-u-tay has a swb rollbar, so if anyone here is buying it and is willing to part with it I might be interested...
  11. Probably to tag it and drive it back and forth in front of the local police station yelling "Neener-neener-neener..." But that's just a guess...
  12. First things first - there ain't no such thing as rims anymore. What you are looking at is a set of turbine wheels. If its just wheels I'd offer $100 and see if he bites. Good condition turbines are worth an easy $125. I can sell my beat ones for $100 today. As the price of scrap contiues to rise I'd snatch things like that as I see them or you will pay more in the future. But SouthLake is right - being in school you really should keep with the "Ain't Broke" mentality.
  13. A $1000 in the stock market would be a lot of fun, but you could always do bonds or bank CDs. If you have any debt though - any at all - pay it off before intrest rates begin climbing again.
  14. Okay, I rolled Carmine into the back of my garage last night and began prep work on the quasi-resto. I have a lot to accomplish in a short time so hopefully it won't be too interesting. First pic: Her temp home. As you can see I already have the 31" tires on so the first thing that will need to be done is to swap out for the Grand Chero Control arms. Next on my list is a full engine and Ax15 swap. Here is the before pic of what will be removed. During the teardown I will try to starighten out the frame in the front corner. Right now the bumper is about 3 inches farther back under the fenders than should be. The big project will be the interior - its all coming out. I have two floorpans, power windows, window seals, radio, and new shifter knob. As you can see from this pic I still have a nasty leak from somewhere that needs to be addressed. Hopefully the project won't take very long, but I am going to try my best to document it.
  15. She's a 4.0/Ba10. When the leak first started I jacked the truck up and used three cans of foaming engine bright to scrub her back into her glory days. By that point there was oil everywhere so there was no easy trail to follow back. After the scrub down though the only oil I could find was at the base of the motor/tranny seam and a small seap on the valve cover. The repair happened the next day and 300 miles down the road my entire undercarrage is soaked again.
  16. I have a rear main seal hemoraging oil like the Comanche Valdez. I had it replaced with a new seal, but the mechanice said the seal in it was almost new itself. I told him to replace it anyway and now my motor is bleeding worse than before. What causes this? For the life of me I cannot think of how a new seal wouldn't be able to work on a 143k motor.
  17. Okay guys, I have to ask a serious and important question and cannot think of a better group of guys to ask than you all. I have been married now for three years to a beautiful and intelligent lady. Lately though we have both been working some insane hours and not been seeing each other like we used to. We went from spending our weekends at the beach, laying in the back of the truck and watching the stars until morning to barely mumbling hello when we cross paths. Well a few weeks ago I noticed that she wasn't coming home exactly on time and when she got home she would hope right into the shower. Then one afternoon I accidentally discovered a pre-paid cell phone in her car after I had paid for a really nifty family plan. The final incident came when a man called the house and hung up as soon as I said hello. Distraught, last Saturday I told her I was going to head out on a fishing trip with some friends and pretended to drive off. I then waited until later that evening when I saw her leave the house in a sexy black dress. I followed her to this fancy restaurant where she meet up with some good-looking guy. Worried she might spot my truck, I pulled in behind a van with the @$$ end hanging out. I then proceeded to climb underneath to get a better view. There I discovered a quarter-sized patch of frame rust from driving on the beach. So my question is - should I have this piece welded in for safety, or do you think a good coat of POR15 will suffice?
  18. Dude, you so friggin owe me on this one - six hours at the DMV and State Police Auto Theft. I felt like a Zebra being transported to the Zoo in the Hyena boxcar... I had to fill out two affidavits and two title reports and discuss the situation of how I came into ownership of the truck between two detectives, a DMV investigator, and a JP Judge. Some guy named Juan kept asking me if I had accepted Hey-zeus as my personal savior - apparently Hey-zeus was in on a grand-theft charge and being fingerprinted down the hall. Then I had to get saline injections from loss of fluids from the profuse sweating. Schedule six months of advanced therapy. Got a hangnail. Calls made to the FBI, CIA, and NSA. Bedsores from sitting in lousy state "waiting room" chairs. Blood Poising from said bedsores. Even the vending machines at the station were out of dew. ...okay, maybe it wasn't THAT bad, but that's what it felt like... Anyway, got a call from the post office this afternoon that I didn't pay enough postage for the envelope I chose (didn't know it made a difference) so I'll stop in tomorrow and get in back on track again. You should have it by the weekend.
  19. A-10 Thunderbolt II (Warthogs) are the jeeps of the aircraft world. Ugly and slow they can still take out a mountain range on a single tank of gas. My favorite airplane is still the P-38. Jets are cool, but a properly modified Lightning can out accelerate and out climb an F18 Super Hornet. .... if you have a couple of million burning a hole in your pocket to do so.
  20. 95% chance of being the Ba10. The only was an Ax15 is in there is if a transmission swap occured in its life. At 125k that's doubtful, but not impossible. As for price, if you like it $1100 isn't too bad. Looking at ebay there are several (very cheap) options currently listed for the southern states.
  21. Oh........ well in that case when it gets there just send it back and I'll refund the fee I charged you. :brows: .
  22. John - I sent you an email never heard back. Watch your mail buddy.
  23. Am I looking at this thing right? Is the steering wheel and gear shifter like 6ft above the roof of the truck? Imagine that thing with a snorkel and duck horn...

    Got Snow???

24"? I bet your schools didn't even start late. Here in DE the national guard would have been deployed and every store in three states would have been out of toliet paper.
  25. Exactly? - Truck Gallons / Total Miles = Final Average Carmine (89 I6 4x4): 30.314 / 502 = 16.560mpg Sapphire (88 I6 4x4) 23.524 / 431 = 18.322mpg Gracie (88 I6 4x4) 1,984.819 / 39,337 = 19.819mpg Scarlet (88 I6 2wd) 1,313.896 / 25,974 = 19.769mpg These are just my Mjs.
