Yup shipping cost can be the definite killer of a good deal at rockauto that"s about the only negative thing I have to say about them.

Any members here from New Mexico? I'm interested particularly in areas around Las Cruces, are they real strict about emissions in that state? I'm just curious because my MJ barely passed the smog check this year and my sister just bought a beautiful house out there with her husband, kinda tempted to just pick up and leave CA.

I know exactly what you mean, I'm glad I do my own work I'm a proud do it yourselfer kinda guy, if you ask me that is quality in men that's dying out,,,,,,and it's dying out FAST :shake:

We sell on e-bay to and I know how it feels to deal with people that cannot read, we get calls with people pissed off and upset about how "the part didn't fit their vehicle" when it clearly has detailed description on the listing of the vehicle the parts are compatible with somehow it turns out to be your fault.

Laughing my @$$ off, you guys have some good stories and cruiser 54 you are absolutely correct about the "mommy come wipe me " statement, it's amazing how some people are just quick to put their hand out and make a request for whatever they want AND expect you to wrap it with a pretty pink bow and hand it over with a warm smile on your face after they just finished $#!&ting on you for THEIR mistake,,,,,, :ack: I've lost count for how many times these import car tuners have contacted us pissed off about how our 100.00 dollar set of cast pistons didn't hold up to nitrous and turbo charging,,,, I'm not into imports by any means but I would assume it's safe to say a good set of pistons will be much more than 100.00 bucks

Anyone on this forum have a job that deals with the general public? I work at an engine rebuild parts warehouse and we also sell on the internet you guys will not believe the $#!& we come across from some people, more than anything people seem to think having (fill in the blank) amount of years working on cars gives them COMPLETE immunity for making mistakes,,,,and having ASE certifications only makes them more of a wizard, I have ASE certifications myself and have never in my life used it as leverage personally I believe it shows you have test taking skills and reading comprehension and that is it, I can go on but I'd rather hear some stories from you guys

What opinion do you guys have for both the ARB M002 upgrade vs the putco 230004HW I'm planning an upgrade on my factory sealed beams but have read terrible reviews for the putco setup relays, where as the ARB is much more expensive but haven't read any negative reviews,,,or hardly any reviews for that matter, this will be used for my daily driven 89 comanche.

That is a good question, I had the whole front end of the truck off grill, radiator, radiator support I wear steel toe boots and was Seriously pissed and wanted to get things back together before the sun went down,,, it's not fun working outside on a gravel drive way late at night and I had been at it since about 7:30 am,,, anyhow it wasn't very much I was able to verify the run out with my dayco belt alignment laser tool I was surprised myself.

Best Factory Replacement Tires

I'm not too far from Irwindale, I say LA because it's better known. -
I would do a block test to rule out the head gasket, you can rent the kit at vatozone and it's very easy to do, also just because a water pump is not leaking doesn't mean it's good I've pulled water pumps off cars were the impeller is so rusted and far gone it looked like a ninja star and wouldn't circulate water anymore.
-
is the belt contaminated? you didn't kick or smack any of the belt drive components during reassembly did you?,,,,see my other threads you'll see what I mean :laughin: throw some water on it while the engines running and the belt is squeaking, if the noise goes away for a little then comes back you have an alignment or slippage/contamination issue and you can rule out component bearings, I found out my belt was squeaking after I replaced my Harmonic Balancer and timing chain long story short while I was putting everything back together i kicked my PS pump assembly, bent the shaft and pulley just slightly,,,it was barely visible and spent almost a week scratching my head trying to figure out what the problem was.

Serpentine Belt Alignment?
big66440 replied to big66440's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
OK problem solved, sorry to have left out one BIG important detail but,,,,,,,,,,,,I had forgotten to mention I kicked the living @#$%^& out of my PS pump assembly when putting my truck back together (temper got the best of me,no I'm not proud of it) so I bent the pump shaft and pulley just enough to cause the belt to squeak so I got a replacement pump/pulley from NAPA and all is fine now and just for future reference the new mopar harmonic balancer part number 33002920AC works perfectly fine WITHOUT the oil slinger, thank you all again for your help. -

Cool, sounds like SRA/s are it then, I've always thought they were the perfect tire but just wanted to see what real experience was like.
