Sounds kinda like what I said only I suggested using a vm. But if possible I would do what you suggested... Might be why I tend to hold onto computers..

I know oem OS can be picky but my win 7 ultimate OEM pc was struck by lightning when I was at work, it fried the Mother board. I was able to get a new motherboard and thankfully windows continued to work. I have used VMware workstation it is awesome but costs a good bit the last time I checks. As a free vm option virtual box works well. It wouldn't hurt to try virtual box with your oem xp. Another long shot option is to install Linux on a vm and download and install "wine" to run windows programs. This option is free but a may not work.

A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum..

I agree, it has the eliminator wheels, and bucket seats, unless modified I don't think it is a base model. Does it have the full gauge cluster as well? -

What is considered a good engine rpm at 55 mph and 70 mph? I see a lot of gear specs and ideas but not much of a target rpm for fuel economy.

Black89Comanche - Dad's First Comanche
Blue88Comanche replied to Blue88Comanche's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
We Finished the Headliner last weekend and also installed a "new" fancy mirror with map lights. While the Headliner was out we put in some insulation in the cab. We then prepped the headliner board for the new liner the fabric here we sized the new liner to the board Cut to the proper size or just bigger liner trimmed dad cleaned the board one last time before we applied the glue dad then started applying the glue the instructions on the can of glue said to apply a second coat in a different direction of the first we brought everything back inside to attach the new head liner fabric to the board to apply the headliner evenly to the board we called the rest of the family to help to help evenly apply pressure and not wrinkle the fabric we used a small paint roller brush Finished, now we let the newly restored headliner dry while the headliner was drying dad and I started working on his "new" fancy mirrors. Here was our score from the pick and pull. All 3 mirrors worked, so we chose the best looking one for his Jeep but before we got too involved with wiring the new mirror we wanted to figure out why the inter lights were not working. we started by checking the fuze, that was the problem after the fuze was replaced the lights started working, but they would not come on when the drivers door opened. so dad removed the door switch and as luck would have it, the wire to the switch came out in the door somewhere along the line.... Dad then spent the next 20 min. trying to fish out the lost wire, but with no luck.. we moved on to figuring out what wires did what on the B-Pillar lights, as this is where we chose to tie into for power while dad was working on the B-Pillar lights I made this simple harness for the fancy mirror's lights dad then spliced in my harness and we routed it to the mirrors working ares I then spliced the Mirrors power wires to the new mirror harness wire i made tested the lights after the wiring everything works! Because dad knocked off his old mirror he had to re-attach the mirror mount to the windshield, this was also the first time he had to do this here dad is scrubbing off the old glue and prepping the mount cleaning and activating the window surface applied 2 drops of glue to the back of the mirror mount Dad putting the mount in its place while the mirror mount is drying back to the headliner we trimmed the edges of the headliner again and used double sided tape to secure the excess we slid the headliner back into place, and here is dad reattaching the A-Pillar trim next we reattached the visors and the mirror, here is our finished weekend project!- 41 replies

Clutch Master Cylinder
Blue88Comanche replied to 88whitemanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
sounds about like what i did, installed a new slave, filled the master, pumped it about 30-40 times, checked fluid level and added fluid, bumped it till it was firm, added fluid if needed, waited a couple hours for the little bubbles to go away and pumped it some more. it is not the "proper" way but it worked for me and i have a nice firm petal without any slack -
 i would be happy with a M1 Garand, they are a lot of fun to shoot. My friend keeps saying to get a M1A, it uses a similar gas system as the Garand and has a box mag.. but my favorite thing about the garand is after you shoot the last round the clip makes a cool sound when it ejects lol

so, yesterday was interesting.... the Mechanic replaced the Belt for $50, but the a/c compressor was toast to the point the clutch and pulley where locked up and not free spinning. he quoted us $700 to replace it, I asked if the AC could be by passed and it could not be. I looked and one of our local mechanic friends said it can't be by passed. we told him no where where going to tow it home. I then spent the next 3 hours looking for a truck and trailer to use. when dad and i finally got a truck and a trailer we discovered that the insurance cards where expired, so we spent an hour getting the up to date ones. as we are packing up, dads job called and told him to be in LA by tomorrow (well today now), but at least while he is on the boat he is making money. Dad ended up having to shell out the money for the mechanic up there to replace the AC compressor. I made and received more phone calls on my cell phone yesterday than I normally do in a month.

Well I was just going by the weather radar for tomorrow.. The car is stuck without steering in a parking lot, that would have been a fun repair in the rain haha
-
Thanks for the info, I think when my uncles where looking at the car they where just looking top down, the engine sits like a FWD car so the belts are on the passenger side. The engine bay on that car in very very cramped. They also only have very house hold basic hand tools, apparently no wrenches and what not. It's most likely a good thing they did not try to work on it, we can't afford more expenses on her car. I hope that's not the problem, guess I will check that the next time she is home

Well my sister finally called and said that one of our aunts friends can do the repair for $50. So her car will be fixed some time tomorrow hopefully. The reason this was a big deal is because she is 4 hours away, bad weather expected, and missed a couple days of work. She was freaking out. I could have done the repair my self but 8+ hours of driving round trip would have sucked both time from work and the little cash I have for my bills. Hopefully everything goes well tomorrow.

My sisters car is broken down a couple hundred miles away from us, but is near my aunts house. She also works all week in Auburn but is stuck in Calera (about an hour away) the accessory belt broke on her car and it needs to be replaced. the car is currently parked in a parking lot. so here are our options. 1 have a local mechanic replace the belt (and risk getting ripped off) 2 My uncle attempt to repair the car (he oped not to because of his limited knowledge of cars) 3 dad and i drive up to her in his jeep and she takes his jeep back to auburn and we repair her car and drive it home. (but may or may not be able to make the repair in a timely manner due to the storms in the area) 4 We can tow dad jeep to my sister for her to use and we tow her car home to make the repairs at home with all our tools (u-haul does not recommend my 05 4.7L WK to tow other vehicles, but we may can use my uncles Dodge 1500) other notes, My aunts house is full with out of town family, so we may not be able to stay overnight if the repair takes longer than expected. there is currently a huge storm front passing over Calera my sister has already messed a day of work (college student with 2 part time jobs).. her car is a 2005 Ford Five-Hundred Limited AWD Looks like tomorrow will be interesting no matter what we chose to do, any advice?

Comanche Club Storefront

have you thought about setting up an amazon store, i am not sure what the cost would be, but i have seen buttons that say "purchase this item at amazon" so in theory you could use the forum as a e-Catalog and have that button going to your listing in amazon or ebay, or whatever 3rd party store you plan to use -

just my thoughts: we currently have a "craigslist" style store, where every puts up their random stuff and extra parts for sale, and thats good and all but I can't ever find anything in my state. From what I gather you want to make a "ebay or Amazon" style store, and Have is set so whoever makes the T-shirs, stickers, or whatever, can have a cleaner way of searching for stuff taking orders. So for example under the Store tab you could have sub categories of Clothing T-shirt Hoodies Hats Comanche Accessories Stickers Can Coozies I like your Idea and hope it pans out in a cheap and effective manner. But i agree with Pete, about there may not be enough people interested in the store items. I run a Gym with over 1300 members between the two locations and none of them use the online store to purchase gym goods (that corporate forced upon us and we pay for against our will), and we have posters advertizing that our members get 20% off everything. We are also selling T-shirts in the gym for a 3rd party and i sell one maybe every 3 weeks for 10 bucks. I don't mean to shoot down your Idea but i just think we do not have an active member base large enough to support a store full time store yet. Maybe you can get with Pete or Alexia to get some forum stats. Like how many active members in a months time, how many views to the current classifieds sub forum. that would help get an idea on member usage as an example Here is the current usage of my gym in a 30 day period Green= current and up to date - yellow= past due, bad address, bad billing info, or about to expire - red= expired account, frozen account, canceled account, 90 days past due, or transferred account -
