2007 Yamaha Wolverine 450
Blue88Comanche replied to Blue88Comanche's topic in Member Projects: Other Cool Stuff
We just got it running again today, so I haven't personally had much time on it while I've had it. But according to Coleton it will go about 40-50 mph. This one like you said is more sporty than utility, but it does have a 1 7/8th ball hitch. ATVs are still new to me and I look forward to using it. My grandparents own 40 acres of wooded property for hunting. So I'll be using it mostly for utility till the old trails are cleaned up for the jeep. Jeff- 7 replies

Finally had a bit of time to look over the no start issue. Just a 10 amp fuse. Replaced it and it's running like a champ again! Jeff- 7 replies

Its the Stock Honcho Bumper and a 1:10 scale Warn Winch. I modified the bumper to clear the larger 2.2 tires i had orignally, but just went back to 1.9s. the winch is zip tied to the bumper and i cut a slot out on the front skid. A RTR Axial SCX10 Honcho and a Comanche body are all you'd need to get started. The price can vary but I think the honcho starts at $300. But really you are shooting for a 12.3" wheelbase. Later on you can upgrade the control arms to metal links, and a few other upgrades. I bought a rolling cassis. I lucked out because it said no electronics where included but it came with everything but a battery, remote, body, and wheels. I have about $400 into mine. Automan also has one. I think he picked his up on Craigslist for relatively cheap. I also saw a couple in the classifieds. Idk if they are still for sale or not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ive had my General Grabber AT2 tires for a few years now. I like them and havent had any issues with them. I havent really used them for off road much aside from when my brother got his MJ stuck in a mud bog in the back yard. Fliped on the locker and was able to trot right through it. 4924815678737 by Blue88Comanche, on Flickr 4924802998420 by Blue88Comanche, on Flickr

I Just have a picture of the back side of the connector. My grandfather had it wired for a trailer harness before i had the truck. I think its just spliced into the tail light harness. I'm planning to add a good power source to the trailer and trailer lights and have them activated via relays. 7 pin connectors have a pin dedicated to aux power, for charging trailer batteries or so on. Different tire diameters on front and rear
Blue88Comanche replied to Sevik's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
In theory the 242 in full time wouldn't have any issues. I'd be like having a full size tire with a doughnut spare on the same axle. The open carrier should allow the difference in rotational speed. Part time is where issues may arise. I'm sure someone mentioned this before. It's like 4wd tractors, small tires paired with large tires. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I had the stock shocks, and after hearing them max out for the past couple years I finally decided to replace them with the Monroe sensa-track with the helper spring. Well those ended up only being a maybe an inch longer and are still maxing out... I didn't even need to use a jack to swap them out... That should have been my first sign of trouble. So I'm going to sell them or return them if I still can and buy a longer set. Won't be with the helper spring cause that was already there longest set they sell for our shock setup. I need to take them off then measure the max drop and compression. But I'm being lazy about it. And will get to it "later". -

Front has ZJ V8 variable rate springs with 2" pucks. The rear has hell creek MT springs. The last I measured it was about 1.5-2.5 inches above stock 4x4 height. I'm also on 31 inch tires so that alone raises the jeep by an inch. But the grille guard/winch setup on the front made the puck a requirement to keep a slight front down rake. At least till I get new front springs. -
This build thread is mostly to show my progress on my cousin's ATV. He is letting me borrow it while he is in the Marine Corp I just need to get it running again lol. Pictures will come soon.

Steven (Black89Comanche) gave me his DIY JRC Off-Road bumper after it was welded up. So all i needed to do was grind down the messy welds and paint it. My Progress: Finished the grinding by Blue88Comanche, on Flickr Sanding the bumper by Blue88Comanche, on Flickr Sanding the bumper by Blue88Comanche, on Flickr Sanding the bumper by Blue88Comanche, on Flickr Apparently they make black primer now, so there really isnt a point in showing the priming process. here is the painted bumper. Final Paint by Blue88Comanche, on Flickr Final Paint by Blue88Comanche, on Flickr With the paint done and curing over night we can jump to installation. Mounting the bumper wasn't exactly a smooth process. the two bottom bolts (located beside the shackle) did not line up properly. I still need to drill the holes to correct it. So here is a Before Old Bumper by Blue88Comanche, on Flickr and here is After New Bumper by Blue88Comanche, on Flickr Alabama requires the license plate be illuminated when the Lights are on. so far the best option i found for a low profile light are these: Click here for the lights. they replace the bolts that mount the license plate to the bumper and have a directional led light in it. they should arrive today and I should have them on tonight! Future plans will be to add some flush mount led pods for improved reverse lighting and a combo 4 pin 7 pin trailer plug. -
Fair statement. I do have a factory bumper but its starting to rot and previous owner welded it to the truck. This is the next closest option. Otherwise if looking for something offroadish its custom fab only at least in my neck of the woods.... been looking for a good one for about 6 years now :( What I have found: http://www.jcroffroad.com/product/DIY-MJ-R.html My brother gave me his DIY JRC bumper. He decided he did not want it after it was welded. So I got it and finished it out. And hopefully can get it mounted today. It looks sharp, but I'll need to come up with a license plate mount and a light for it as well...
