The 4x4 emblem also give this away. The only first gen Elim's that were 4x4's were '90's. Rob Thanks! I took a gamble that it was an eliminator and bought it 1hr after I viewed it, it was destined for the shredder )))shudders((( I didn't plan on owning 4 , but the deals keep showing up. I will see if I can make it start after it arrives tomm. The pans seemed really good from the outside, mice have run rampant in it so a good clean is in order. The tumble for the iggy is stuck forward, the air filter is soaked with oil , the body is ok some rust over the rear wheel flares, interior seems complete, more info tomm. I will call it the ranch manche as it got pulled from a field

It started life as a 1989 Cherokee Pioneer , to be honest after a few brews we chopped it and welded half a reclaimed manche bed and cab to it (6-7 years ago) after numerous run ins with solid objects the first of 3 97-01 clips went on. i always wondered why your sig said your comp rig was a manche, makes sooo much more sense now XD Fixed,.. Stupid auto correct on the iphone

2nd coming of the Comanche,.....
JENSSEN replied to JENSSEN's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Well when I spiced the new panel in my gap seemed ok but it was a few millimeters out so now the body lines don't match up,... thank god for PYP Scores! Well the good score saved me a lot of work! (and I have spares for the next project ;) new (to me ) box side :),.. started on it separated it and working on the 3 dents to has and some surface rust repair. Now for the last time,... This gets cut off and replaced,.. without cutting corners (pun intended) and this gets changed with the new one. I will be holding onto this one just in case -

Well with the 2.5L Motor I would agree! I know a 4.0L like the back of my hand, I can figure those out usually pretty damn quick. Now with owning 3 Comanches , two of which are 2.5L ones I feel that I will know those really well shortly as well LOL

So after 2 weeks of throwing parts at the "new" 1988 Manche trying to fix the stumble at intersections and rough idle I sat down and though about simple stuff. Ok so I did cap, rotor, fuel treatment, TBI cleaning, o2 sensor, checked vacume lines, EGR, MAP sensor all the typical stuff, still rough idle,.... Then I thought about the o2 sensor and the colour of it,.. And all I could think is if that was a plug that's lean! So I did a fuel gas test at the manifold and no change, so I went a level more simple grabbed a wrench and checked bolts on the intake and exhaust,... One on the exhaust was missing and the next loose, 3/4 - 1 full turn and fawk me it runs amazing! Now an oil change and rocker arm retorque ( a bit noisy ) ,... Finally it purrs!! Viva 2.5L tower of power! Guess a 4.0 swap will have to wait!

88 MJ idle issues,.. Seems like a miss 2.5L
JENSSEN replied to JENSSEN's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Well the stutter is back at intersections,.. feels like its going to stall but recovers to a miss at idle,... grrrr So far cap, rotor, wires, 02 sensor, TBI cleaning, tank-o-premium and injector (tank) cleaner,.. Neeeeext? :thwak: -
I have seen a few 97+ ZJ's have their BCM malfunction and not allow the car to start as it thinks it's getting stolen,..
