The car that hit me was the Prius,.. The hate inside me for those cars grows stronger everyday,.. It looks ok in the pictures but had pretty significant damage under the plastic. I ran the bumper in Canada searching all the auto wreckers and came back with zero results,.. And to date no new OEM ones,...

Well I would agree its not a bullet proof bumper stock but that being said I have pretty much zero boday damage and not even a scratch on the unibody,.. The rear bumper did what it was supposed to do absorb the impact; had it been stronger it would of transfered the impact to the chassis and that could of killed the truck. As for making one I have all the tools to do so or a roll pan for that matter but to be honest I just want it back to stock,.. and I want them to do it LOL

Well it's 1:21 AM , home from the shop and cleaned up. Headed back in the AM so I didn't kill myself tonight. After work until now I took 2 AW4 transmissions and made 1 to fit the new application. Then I started on the upper 3rd link tie in, got some booger welds when I tried to tie into the floor as it was out of position and the plate was far thicker than the floor so I did a tie far past the rear of the mount and gusseted the s#it out of it. Then reinstalled the transmission and fitted the 2004 rubicon tcase. The case fits like a glove! Not even a floor modification req'd!! Well so far ,.. I didn't take too many pictures but if you have questions on the work to date just ask. Here is tonight's progress;

Having some some clearance issues that need to be addressed and a ton more hours of cutting and welding,..

Everything is tacked in for a true test,.. Actual body weight on the suspension to see how it all works,.. The results: Going to have to make sprung retainers Jack is maxed out,.. Any higher is unsafe without tires on it Driver side May have to limit the droop if the drive shaft binds or hits the skid plate

Got a bit more done tonight, only spend 3 hours on it but think I figured out the illusive 3 link,.. And no matter how hard I tried the d/s was out! So here is a rough idea on how it's going to look:

36MPH on the highway? Sounds like a hazard. Assuming you meant 36MPG on the highway, then I'm thinking your speedometer is reading very high, which is causing your presumed miles/tank to also be high. The only engine offered in the XJ/MJ that could possibly achieve those numbers would be the Renault diesel. Distance traveled was via GPS and I was following the posted limits keeping the RPMS low

Wow I am actually very honored to be Junes member especially since its my both month! Thank you for all the kind words and props, very nice to be recognized to say the least. The jeep bug bit me 7 or 8 years ago but I also stricken with 2.3 turbo ford fever and a nasty case of the vintage affliction,.. Oh and vw air cooled flu,.. :help: In total we have amassed a fleet and I don't see myself getting any better, infact worse as I age,.. From Pintos to Comanches to vintage I love em all and I firmly believe the car doesn't know whats name is on it so to me all can be cool. Except yaris, prius, smart cars, echos, cubes , fits or versas or any crap similar to those lol (no offense to any owners of the above cars,....)
