The Finishing Of Winter Projects
JENSSEN replied to banshee's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Build the parts for the relocation? Or buy them? I dig the set up!!! -
The system I built myself , it was a week of evening research and built on a long weekend. The links mount to a crossmember that bolts to the unibody. The unibody was reinforced inside and outside to allow for the bolts to clamp the unibody without crushing it. At the crossmember end I used the Chevy leaf spring bushings to dampen the blows and at the differential end trail gear heims. I will work on getting the length of the links , mount points , ect, ect. Now one major error I did make is that at full bump I never left room for a muffler or any real exhaust system lol

10 Pin Connector Behind Headlight
JENSSEN replied to 4x4hemi's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
That looks like a type of dielectric grease not corrosion, I have found the grounds to be the usual faults on XJ/MJ's. -

My race truck has a 4 link rear and it consists of about $400 of metal, trail gear hemi's, Chevrolet leaf spring bushings, and V8 ZJ front coils,... Oh and it bolts in and in the below picture I had a standard drive shaft (no SYE) This is a photo from a few years ago, front is now 3 links and moves now. Squat and anti squat is great and it rides like a bush Cadillac!

You in Edmonton or Calgary?

Very cool! When my truck was in the highschool body shop 1/2 kids asked what it was because they loved it and wanted one :)

Case study 1994 Grand Cherokee, 271,XXX Kms on the odometer, 4.0L auto. Scenario oil was changed 2 days ago. Day one: on start up idle is rough like timing is retarded. Next lifer/rocker tick is evident. Day two: oil pressure is 2-3 bars low at idle and at 3,000rpm not reading at even the half way point on the OEM gauge. Idle and lifter/rocker tick is worse. So I decided to pull the "partsmaster" filter as it all began after the oil change,.. It was VERY hot to the touch that had me thinking,.. With the stock pile of Jeeps I have at the house I have some good quality filters always in stock. So when I removed the filter I compared it to a quality Baldwin filter. I replaced the "partsmaster" filter with the Baldwin, replaced the lost oil and ran the same tests. The Jeep responded very positively and idle oil pressure is higher than 3,000 rpm pressue with the old filter. We have regained previous oil pressure before the change , noise and odd idle seem to be corrected for now.

First Jeep I Ever Touch! Kinda Need Help! Lol
JENSSEN replied to Sohosh's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
On the roof repair is that filler or did you weld a patch panel in? Just remember that a Comanche is a uni-body so all body metal is part of the structure! OH and I think you traded up!!! The Comanche is way cooler :) -
One more picture because I am excited

Well today was the day it made its trek home :) It's now in good company again,.. Tucked away for reassembly Whoooot!!! Looking plain,.. Watching it bounce on the way home I am really unsure how much I can lower the stance without the wheels contacting the fenders on the front,.. Rear has lots of room to work with though!
