    cement blocks

I've noticed in alot of build threads, That people are using concrete blocks as a base for jack stands. Please do not do this!!!They are strong in the right place, but terribly dangerous in this situation. Please don't do this anymore. Thanks,Mark
  3. IMO don't do it, you really need a heavier truck to pull a car on a trailer.
  4. This was just covered a couple weeks ago. Just type ax15 crossmember in the search box at the bottom left of the page and theres a good post from Geonovast that shows the difference. Later, Mark
  5. I agree that theres a problem with the oil pump or drive.Fords used to have a problem with the roll pin getting sheared off that holds the distributor drive gear from turning on the distributor shaft. I would pull the distributor out and see what broke, but the cam sensor needs to be timed and I don't know how to do that.
  6. Is that clevis the factory ford part used on the exploder?
  7. welcome to the Comanche Club.I like your new project, kind of an unusual color, and looks pretty solid. You might try bringing the color back a little by rubbing it out with GoJo with pumice. That way if you want to paint anything you won't have to worry about wax getting in your way. keep us posted. Mark
  8. Looking good, I would keep the flares red.
  9. Hey, love that truck! Is the roll bar custom? It looks like it fits real well.
  10. Going to the dentist sounds like fun, but I went in and had cataract surgery instead. Nice nurses tho!
  11. We lucked out here in north east iowa, only a few inches, then wednesday it was windy and blew it around some, You get spoiled living in town. I guess it drifted pretty good in the country.
  12. I have a 91 yj with a 2.5, and a 89 comanche with a 4.0, and I just love the power of the six compared to the four. I don't keep track of fuel mileage very close, but I know the 2.5 only gets 13 mpg on the highway because I never use 5th gear, it won't pull it with 31 in tires. I guess the only reason I would like to keep the 2.5 is because all my other drivetrain parts are good, and being my DD I want to keep it simple. I'm 600 miles away from 200,000!
  13. How about 91 multi port, will the 86 long block accept the 91 accessories? It's for in my 91 YJ
  14. Can't wait to see it with the 33s on it!
  15. Some wheels have a large center hole and the lug nuts have to center the wheel on the hub. These are not hub centric. A hub centric wheel has a center hole with an inside diameter the same size as the hub outside diameter. This way the wheel is centered on the hub and the lug nuts just hold it on. Most factory wheels are hub centric, but many aftermarket wheels are not.
  16. yes, and set the old gas tank outside

  18. I think what they mean, is IF you have a 2.8 TBI, you can use the 4.3 throttle body with a 2.8 TBI ECM. I personally think the 4.3 injectors will be too big for a 2.8. I ran TBI on my 400 small block, with a large bore Holley TBI unit, it ran OK, but you kinda had to feather the throttle in or it would hesitate. The other thing about TBI is that it's a speed-density system, and you must run a stock or very mild camshaft, or it will load up at low rpms.
  19. The gate is the notch that the shift lever stops at when you pull the lever back to 4 hi. then you have to move it over to continue back to 4 low.
  20. According to the NAPA walker exhaust book, it's2 1/4" all the way through.
  21. You could use the whole setup from a 87 small blazer. You would need the distributor, intake manifold, throttle cable and all the sensors off the blazer engine. I'm pretty sure the heads are the same as your 86, so it should bolt right on. You will also need an electric fuel pump, inline with 15 lbs pressure. If you get the factory wiring diagram, it's not that difficult to wire up. Basically, 2 or three grounds, a couple B pos, and a couple ignition switched positive.
  22. In theory it would. But,an important part of the stock shifter is the gate, and the B&M shifter wouldn't have the gates in the right place.
  23. I was thinking about you and your project, but I didn't know you had actually started the fitting yet. It looks good in there!
  24. I have a 92 Dakota that I planned to use for a swap like this, But now I'm having 2nd thoughts about it. I have a 92 4.0 HO that I'll probably use but my BA10-5 also has a synchro out in 3rd gear, so I have to do something about that too.
  25. Look on page 4 of Your project MJs. posts are by 360MJdude. He also has a video of it running, I think its there, but I know its on youtube
