Thanks Fiat and Eagle, I really wasn't looking to forward to pulling the bed, and I always dreaded dropping tanks, and certainly like saving a little moola -

Looking good, that sound proofing should help with heat and noise -
^^^^I am the worlds worst about hiding stuff from myself and buying a duplicate, and the worst part, when I get back to the shop with my "New" item, I'll tell myself "I'll put this right here so there is no chance of not having/finding it", and Whoala, there is the original part/tool I'd been searching for I also do the photo and cataloging of items I sell on FB marketplace and ebay

performed all the junk I had wanted to for the time being and it is a nice day, SO, I thought I'd take the "Heep" out for a little cruise, well upon arrival at our property truck coughs and sputters, Thinking I'm out of gas, well that the trucks out of gas and it looks like the gauge is not reading correctly it has been registering 1/2 tank for 25-40 mi total, so I suspect sending unit, upon getting "Home" truck was out of fuel, but showing 1/2 tank.... I searched here and found this; COMANCHE MJ 1987-1990 18 & 23.5 GAL. F.I. W/ PUMP - 4.0L (justgastanks.com) Is this the sending/pump unit I need (6Cyl 5 spd), and what is best option, pulling the bed or drop the tank????

Doors look really good, when you take the doors off the rotisserie add a picture of it, I think I'll be doing my doors at some point, I was thinking about a color change and going to a solid white, the doors and the jambs I don't think would be that big of a problem, but I didn't want to "strip" the dash out, under the hood wouldn't be that big a deal either, a lot of work, but under the hood does not scare me like taking the dash apartand all the "brittle" stuff

Cool vehicle and I can relate on the absence of a shop/garage, I am hoping to have a shop and house built on our property soon, got a couple of buildings (barns/out buildings) but not quite like having a shop our old property I had a nice 30 X 40 shop, that had big fans for the summer and heat for our mild winters, I sure miss it already -
I have never been to Idaho, but it's on my list, I have a friend that has been out that way and he stated it was the most diverse landscape he'd ever encountered, from farmland one minute to breathe-taking mountain ranges BTW, that's a lot of Tater's and love seeing/experiencing the northern lights, Been to Canada many times Saskatchewan/Manitoba, riding mountain area on deer hunts Project wise, I've got a huge "crater" the previous landowner left me it is 40' x 60' and it starts out ground level and is about 10' deep at the back (dug into a hillside) I have been filling it in with crushed concrete (so far about 180 tons + two buildings concrete pads and block I have dismantled) got another load coming tomorrow, it is all the work I have wanted to do lately, and it sure is keeping me from working on the "Heep" hopefully I'll have a house and shop built soon which should help on getting some stuff done

New AX15, very chirpy but not the TOB
M.T.Hands replied to brucecooner's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I knew that guy had a junk yard full of Cherokees (he is about 1.5-2 hours NW of me), and somebody mentioned he had a YT Channel, and I agree he has some good content, but seems "wishy-washy" to me, but I did subscribe, and I watched the video with the RCV installs, and while the price is up there the current warranty policy makes that change "tempting" to say the least -
Good looking truck

well it is/was not real exciting but I worked on the doors on the Heep today, the latches and locks were in terrible shape as well as the weather-stripping, I cleaned the door latches and replaced the 36 year old grease, I ordered some new door lock cylinders that were listed as a direct replacement, they did not however work out I was able to rejuvenate the PS lock, but the DS is in poor shape I ordered the replacement stuff from Carparts.com, the weather-stripping and the cleaned/greased latches worked out really well the WS fit great and was a pretty easy install

I agree Hopefully I'll post some pic's and progress soon, Been too much "Life" gettin in the way lately

I also think I've heard or read that the BH is different, there are people that know and understand the various BH patterns and spacing (I'm not one of them though) but this may help if you can ID the donor pattern vs. factory 2.8 GM metric pattern [edit] Also called the GM small corporate pattern and the S10 pattern This pattern has a distinctive odd-sided hexagonal shape. Rear wheel drive applications have the starter mounted on the right side of the block (when viewed from the flywheel) and on the opposite side of the block compared to front wheel drive installations. The 2.2l S10/Sonoma had the starter located in the same position as front wheel drive cars. A rear wheel drive bellhousing is displayed at right, and the integrated front wheel drive bellhousing is displayed at the lower right (in this case, as a part of the GM 6T70 Transmission). Those look great

Just rolled in is, well I wanted to say great, but I think that would be the wrong word to describe it, the wife used to say "that can't be real" then I'd show her something comparable while out running around, it is scary knowing and seeing what some people live like and what they drive My #1 favorite is (6) Andrew Camarata - YouTube if you like watching young industrious guys getting it done his channel is good, plus I'm an "equipment junkie" His video's are well done and his place is in the catskills, and some beautiful country, very interesting content (for me anyway)

Had a few members "suggest I start a build thread so here goes nothing 1988 Comanche with 6 cyl 5 speed project and progress; got a bunch of little junk to address but plans are as follows ordered window weather stripping and new door locks, install vent windows, and repair manual window regulators (that was fun) also will be working on the door latches and the 35 year old grease also picked up AX-15 and a Liberty rear 8.25" (open and 3.73 but basically free), that will hopefully get a Detroit Truetrac and 4.10 gearing pics to follow
