Well, crap. I can't find that radio. I'll keep looking. It may have gotten thrown out. I'll let you know if I find it. -
Be sure to check it out  any recollection of whether or not it was TDI? Those seem to be more common, and a lot more tedious. I don't recall...

yada yada yada. I'm so sick of Jeep teasing us with this and that and never coming to market with it. Build an Effin' truck for cryin' out loud!!!!! If they do it right, it will sell like crazy. Especially with the demise of the Ranger and other smaller trucks. Keep it a smallish platform, with a cab, cab and 1/2 and quad cab options. Make it a real 4x4 with a decent engine at a reasonable price and bam! Make it a REAL JEEP. I'll buy one. Would make me quit lusting over a Brute. If they make it big and try to compete with the RAM, F series and chebby full size, they're doomed to fail. If they make it too expensive, or have crappy powertrain options they're doomed to fail to. IMHO.

Ian on powerblocks extreme 4X4 put a vdub diesel in a sammy. Check those episodes out online and see if you can get some pointers. They also did a veggie oil conversion on it.

convert to a 4 wheel drive
Dadinator replied to mickeyd's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
So, you will need to change or modify your driveshaft as well. FYI, you don't have to stick with an auto unless you just want to. I converted mine over to a 5 speed last year and couldn't be happier. More complicated than just converting to 4x4, but not impossible. If you do stick with the auto, the AW4 is the tranny of choice and the one that is in most 4.0 cherokee's and comanche's. I was lucky enough to get a donor cherokee that was the same year as my truck, so that made things a bit easier. I was going to take the motor out of it, but I don't have a hoist and Igot tired of it sitting around and just junked the donor when I got everything I needed off of it. Good Luck. You'll have fun. It's frustrating, but fun too. Pay attention to all the little details and differences between the 2 trucks. Check out my build thread in my signature to get some idea of what I did. -

I've got the factory radio out of the 90 that has the factory cassette deck. Interested? -
Silly question, but have you had the tires/wheels balanced? Maybe you threw a weight...
-
I think it is because if it sits there too long, then they settle at the bottom of the pan and don't drain out. If the engine has been running, it mixes them in the oil a bit better. Just my guess. :dunno:
-
Yep. :agree: Camaro ones are rwd and I believe were right around 200hp. Better reliability as well.
-
I assume it's an auto since it is having shifting issues. It may be the TPS. That caused a shifting issue on our old truck back when it was an auto.
-
It's funny you guys say this. Out of all the cars I've owned over the last 33 years, (and there have been several) the Fords and Jeeps have been the best by brand for me as far as reliability. ChryCo's after that. The GM's have been the worst. And it's not even close.

Pretty sure you could build a 3.4 and put the short block directly in place of your 2.8... Just sayin' :dunno: -
Leonard had more punch than people gave him credit for. Loved that fight with Duran. Even though he lost. Leonard came back and beat Duran with the famous "No Mas" fight. Smart enough not to slug it out with him again. He also took the title from Wilfred "the bible of boxing" Benitez and Hagler. Though it pissed Hagler off so much that he retired. A lot of people thought he didn't do enough to take Haglers title. I disagree. I watched it over and over. If Marvin hadn't pissed away the first 4 rounds thinking he would knock SR out, he would probably have won because the rest of the fight was pretty even. I Like most people on your list as well. My all time favorite fight was the 3 round blitz between Marvelous Marvin and Tommy Hearns. Over 180 punches thrown in the first round. Hearns breaks his hand on Haglers Head. Hagler Knocks him loopy in the third. Great fight. Do you remember the Pizza Hut commercial Hagler did right after that fight. It was hilarious. I believe that Ali said that Shavers hit him harder than anyone. I was a big fan of Holmes as well. Agree with everything you said about him. Great jab!

Tex Cobb. Hadn't heard that name in quite awhile. Dude could take a punch like no other. Larry Holmes beat him like an unwanted stepchild for 15 rounds and the dude kept coming after him. Afterwards, he was on the tonight show and told Johnny Carson that he wanted to fight Holmes again, but the next time in a phone booth. He was a funny guy.

You can go on and on about different ones. What about Muhammad Ali? He was decent. And in my opinion, Buster Douglas didn't beat Mike Tyson, Mike Tyson beat Mike Tyson. That dude was crazy and he lost his edge. Ali would have beaten Iron Mike when they both were in their prime. How About Sugar Ray Leonard? Olympic Gold and World Champion in several different weight classes. My favorite all time boxer by the way. Michael Jordan was a pretty good athlete also. You can dig up all kinds of athletes that could be greatest if you think long enough. I don't think you can call any one greatest athlete. Just greatest in their sport. :dunno:

Not familiar with any electric turbo that can put out enough air for an auto application... Show us what you mean. :dunno:

Nope didn't take it as you were on my case. Not on yours either. What I was saying was panning from left to right and up and down a bit slower. That's what I meant. Good Luck. How's dorothy coming? -

Red, Just a little video advice. Seein's how you're gonna be doing it alot now... Pan slower. Slower less jerky movements make the video's much easier to watch. :thwak: -
Doubt if mine would get the same attention. :brows: Yours is about the best looking one I've seen. Congrats on all your hard work!

Yes, Rymanrph, you should have kept that one. I love Yellow TJ's. Lewt2007, pics or you don't have any. :shake:

I think a better option would be a 3.4 out of a early 2000's camaro. They are rwd. Same basic block as your 2.8 and has been done many times over the years. Would be a nice performance and reliability swap. I think they were somewhere around 200HP. Do some searches as it has been done many times.
