Well believe it or not, he still doesn't have a computer. But if he did, I'd sure tell him to come here. In fact, I've even mentioned it in conversation a few times.

"my wifes gonna kick your @$$!" haha

After taking my friend for a trail ride in my MJ about a month ago, hes decided that he wants to get one now. I found one in Maine and he will know tomorrow if hes getting it or not. MJ FTW

Noting is as bad as my first time trying to fit an axle with brake lines :D I have since gotten lines that are MUCH shorter, and don't have the loopeys.

400sbc in the jeep
Twisty replied to billybob_jeep's topic in MJ Hardcore Tech: Epic Journeys to Greatness
Plenty of rooom!!! :D -
I keep a spare key to the XJ in my wallet. I don't have the door keys for the MJ, and the driver side vent window is smashed (note, don't wheel near trees with it OPEN).

My town has an air field, and a skydiving school. Its about 5 miles from my house...I'm just too chicken (and too poor) to try it :D

I'd crash if I did that. Thanks for the vid CW!

i think the first one is a man

Just incase anyone didnt notice (like myself the first time) at the bottom there is a NEXT PAGE link. I was delighted when I found that :D

Actually, come to think of it, my MJ only has 1 screw holding on the TPS. I keep meaning to get another, because over time the TPS becomes un-adjusted
-
Probobly the easiest thing to do would be to locate a new one (I have 2 spares ;)) and swap the sensors over.

I soldered in a switch to the CPS. It runs through the fire wall, and the switch is near the fuse box. Not too hidden...I could have done better. I figure that only a Jeep person would know what would cause that problem. If a fuel pump switch was installed also...I think that it would drive a thief nuts!

How do you like cranberry farming? I've been working on a hay farm for the past 6 years, and I love it (most days..lol).

Still sounds like an IAC problem. My MJ will rev to 3000rmp from time to time...and doesnt appear to want to come down!

Nice MJ!! If you want to wheel, you can always get a 3" lift kit, and some 31" BFG A/Ts. That keeps the truck relatively low, but still allows for clearance offroad. If you splurged on lockers, then you can go places that rigs with 33"-35" tires could go with no lockers. :chillin:

I get it now. That second pic helped to explain it a lot!

Gotem'...now to install them...
Twisty replied to BLHTAZ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Tom from Hell Creek said that those are all broken in. Maybe they will settle more than they are now. He could always take the main leaf from his pack and use that as an AAL. -
this belongs in tech. anyways, the dana 35 rear axle has an oval-shaped diff cover. the chrysler 8.25 rear axle has a circular cover. the dana 35 should be high pinion and the 8.25 is low pinion 1.) The D35 was never high pinion...only low pinion. ;) 2.) The 8.25 never came in MJs. Only the D35, and the D44. ;) Yours is a 1989, and if the diff cover is oval, its a D35, if it looks like this (see pic) then its a D44.

My toe is dead on, and the thing tracks straight. It also appears that the adjusting collar has plenty of thread engagment. I don't plan for this to be a permanant setup. I'm keeping my eye open for a D60, and will go with either hydro assist, or fully hydro :chillin:

Personally I'd go to a junk yard and get some steering out of a V8 ZJ. The tie-rod is solid rod, and is very hard to bend. The drag link is the same way. I bent a drag link, but it was up by the adjuster collar. I'm running this setup at 6.5" and it works great! If you plan to get bigger axles in the future, and don't want to spend $$ on 1 ton steering, I believe this is the way to go.

It even looks like your caster is going the wrong way. If you look at CW's caster, its on the left side of the 0* mark...yours is on the right :dunno:

what seals for pass side axle swap?
Twisty replied to RandysMJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Supposedly, there is a CJ axle seal that will work. I don't know the number but I DO know that I saw it on NAXJA. EDIT. I did a quick search, and came up with this... http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.p ... disconnect And I guess the guy who knows what exact seal to use is ChuckD. Search for his name as well. -
what seals for pass side axle swap?
Twisty replied to RandysMJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I am assuming you are talking about a D30 (your profile says D44s). Anyways, Randy's Ring and Pinion has the conversion kit for this job. I just knocked out the seal at the disco side, and put a normal axle seal in there. Then I took some steel wool, and polished the axle shaft right where the seal would be sealing. No leaks to date...so I assume its working.
