  1. ;) How's about the negative 30's? I grew up north of you in PEI.....you don't get temps as cold as we get out here, but you get the wind which we don;t....all evens out. PEI? Prince Edward Island. It's been -41 here the one day this winter. With a bunch of -20s to -30s. Is that Celsius or Fahrenheit? -40 is the temp at which C and F are the same.
  2. I was wondering if that was a possible outcome of freezing coolant.
  3. Its -12 here with no wind. I bet it'll be down to -20 by sunrise.
  4. XJs and MJs are identical in that respect. But sometimes I've found myself saying "Cherokee" because the guy on the other side of the counter didn't know what a "Comanche" was. :( Thats a lame excuse!! I always ask for Comanche parts :D
  5. D30 ;) Well it did it's duty. The center piece for a potluck supper with ~30 people.
  6. :D
  7. I love those things. I think that is the only Jeep I would trade my MJ for
  8. I know a guy who has a GMC Jimmy on rockwells and 42's. He just used the snow plow hydraulics for the rear steer.
  9. Jeepthing, is that you?
  10. I too am happy to hear of the forward progress with Samson's recovery!
  11. This is the best I have on the truck.
  12. We're going to pick it up after Christmas. He's leaving for Ohio on Friday. We will arrange to get it when he returns. It has about 170k miles, 1987, 4.0, 4x4, standard, CD player. It is a daily driver now..so I guess it runs well. And supposedly, this is its FIRST New Endland winter. No idea about the rear axle though. I'm not too worried, because my friend is going to keep it a DD, and do some mild off roading. I'm thinking 3", 31" BFG ATs, and maybe a locker in the rear.
  13. I agree. 9 isnt that old. I'm glad that he's getting better
  14. I've got a complete black interior. I don't know if I should sell it, or swap it into my MJ. :brows:
  15. Yeah, its a driver now. The seller's son is using it. He just has too many trucks, and this one has to go.
  16. That MJ in the back comes with it as a parts truck. I'm going to see about getting that one for myself, because my friend has no room for it. $950 for both. Not horrible if it does turn out to be a rust bucket. I also noticed that the bed/doors don't match the rest of the truck. I wonder if those were rusty, and thats what he used the parts truck for?
  17. Timkin makes good wheel bearings.
  18. Well he bought it. Thats what it looks like. The seller said that the only rust on the truck is that on the passanger fender. We will see when we pick it up.
  19. engine, tranny, transfercase, and complete wiring harness would be needed So I'm just wondering...did the bolt pattern for the engine->transmission change? He would not be able to put a 93 AW4 on that engine?
  20. Factor in old age. If he is 13-14, he is rather old. Making him go through all the surgery will be stressful for him, and stressful for you. Also keep in mind that if he is old that another problem could arise very soon. That being said, if it was my dog, and she was still young to middle aged I'd probobly have the vet do their best. I also think that $8,500 is a TON of money. I hope you meant $850. I've been to some of the big horse hospitals in New England, and $8,500 is a lot of money even for those big animals. Have a discussion with your vet too. I know that helps when making a decission. What ever you do, I'm sure you both will have confidence that it is the right choice. Best of luck to you, your fiance, and your dog!
  21. Yep. I sure can!
  22. congrats!!!
