Is the skid still on the truck, or did you pull it? If it doesnt work with your truck, could you tell me the phone # for the place so I could try to get that skid? I have never seen a gas tank skid on an MJ so I can offer no help.

That must give Eagle a heart attack. Its even a little difficult for me to see it like that. :headpop: :mad:

I need an 87 now. Send it to me!! Put a junkyard motor in it. Or find a rusted out XJ and pull the motor, then sell the XJ for scrap. Whats that, 4 MJ's for you now??

Naw, I like my shifter!! This one has the 2.8L V6, and I don't know what tranny AX5 (its a manual)? The clutch doesn't work, and needs to be shifted w/o the clutch. The seller took me for a quick buzz up and down the street to show me that it ran and somewhat shifted. Its going to need new floors, and rocker panels. After that and a transmission fix, I think it will be a fun truck! Mitch, when I get it I'll make a special thread with pics on the club forum.

possibly. the 2.8 ran really well, and sounded perfect! for now, it will probobly sit next to the other MJ, and wait till the 88 is done. then I will be fixing the trans problem (clutch doesnt work) and fixing the rust on the floor boards, and rocker pannels. my XJ is getting up there in miles, and i might have the new MJ be another DD. unless I get a free/cheap 3.4 and axle/trans/TC it will stay as is. :cheers:

Well, in an envelope, I have the title, and the bill of sale. We're going to rent a trailer this week, and go get it.

but I'm going to look at another MJ today. 1986 long bed 2x4 with the 2.8L. looks to be an alright truck...but he said it will need some work to make it reliable. Going to look at it at 5:00 today. I can't wait.

So i'm willing to bet that the long bed MJ's gas tank is pretty vulnerable to rocks and such when wheeling. has anyone made a skid plate for it? Ideally, i would like to relocate the tank into the bed...but i just can't do it at this time. I'm wondering if anyone has made a skid, and if you have, could you post pics so I can get an idea of what i need to do? Thanks :cheers:

X2 :cheers: (except someday I think I will meet CW.) i also agree, the main thing is that i visit this forum because its about Comanches and all the fun stuff that goes along with them, i myself don't care about politics and the like. likewise as there are forums about Comanches, I'm positive there are forums about politics, they are more then willing to debate with you there, if someone invents a www.comancheclubandpolitics.com/forums (which i don't think will happen, it doesn't roll off the tongue) then there i won't mind sifting through the political talk to get to the comanche content. but here its straight forward pretty much every thing in this forum is about comanches and i love it for that fact, i also love that everyone is nice and here to help, i would hate to see the site be divided by difference of opinion. i don't know if what i just typed even makes sense but i said what i was thinking. also, we should have a New England Jeep party fun time bash (a little later in the year so i can have my truck running well) then all of us in this area can meet. Jonathan CW is a nice guy. I purchased a Renix 4.0 from him about a year ago. AND I agree about the NE MJ run...it would be a good time!

wow dude, thats crazy! similar things happened to me when we were getting mine. first the guy said he had the title, we went to purchase it, but he had lost it. when we went to pay him, he wasnt there, and didnt have a cell phone. we drove around his town for an hour, and i called his house numerous times to ask where he was. finally, i got ahold of him, and put a deposit on the truck. the day we went to pick it up, uhaul had no trailers...so we had to wait till next weekend. next weekend we got there with our truck wich has a 7 way trailer plug, but the trailer was 4 plugs, and they had NO adapters. we find another trailer place that does have them, and we are on our way. only to find the owner wasnt at his house again...but his parents were and they were :mad: :headpop: at him. the end. good news it that you got your new MJ rockhound, and those specs look purdy gooood!

well i pulled my starter today, and put one from my 1990 XJ in, and it starts. some times it needs a few love taps, but it works.
