  1. You never said that you need to use the window, so I would recomend a hammer. :D I actually have no idea. Sorry.
  2. What about putting the MJ on the ground, and not letting the suspension droop. This would be a temporary solution, because if it gets wheeled, then it could rub and break the yoke, or joint.

    Yep. Aussies front and rear.

Best $500 I have ever spent!
  5. Check the TPS, and adjust the voltage if necessary. This is what caused the stalling on my truck.

Well it has been EXACTLY 1 year since I took the MJ off blocks, and drove it for the first time! 1 year ago.. And 1 week ago.. Thanks to everyone who has given me guidence and offered their oppinions. I greatly appreciate it.
  7. I am assuming that the bigger the cooler the more cooling it can accomplish, correct? I have been told that an HD steering pump might be beneficial too. What do you guys think? Summit has a couple large aluminum transmission coolers that I was looking into. I have a trans cooler infront of the rad now, and was thinking of getting the biggest possible trans cooler that I could stuff infront of the electric fan, so I could turn it on when going slow.
  8. can't beat a dollar!! Maybe I'll go hunting for one later.
  9. So when I use my power steering a lot, it begins to not work as well. I believe that the fluid is getting kinda hot, and the whole thing looses power. Would a power steering cooler help this at all? I think it would work a little. I'd put it infront of my electric fan, so I could turn it on and off to expedite the cooling process, especialy when I'm using it frequently. I was looking at these two designs: http://www.pscmotorsports.com/product_i ... cts_id=656 and http://www.pscmotorsports.com/product_i ... cts_id=638 I'm thinking that #1 would be easier to mount infront of the radiator. #2 would be difficult to place where it would still cool effectively. Thoughts?
  10. My SOA in the rear is close to 7.5" and I have no vibs at all. I've been up to ~75mph too.
  11. Theres a cool MJ in the projects forum. I can't find the link now...but I think they took ~16 inches off the rear of a LWB MJ.

    This say's it all

  13. So I just measured my rims, and they appear to be 5.625" wide! Much narrower than I expected. I thought they were around 7" wide.
  14. You are correct! It is a 34x9.5 TSL. I don't know what the rim width is, but I will measure when I get home. I'm always asked that, and I honestly don't know the answer. I suppose that now the tire is off the rim...its a good time to check that!! I have another wheeling day on Dec 1st in NH. This time its only 30 miles from my house. But it is also the same place that I had to leave the MJ over night in June!

    Beaterjeep...

Great to hear! I'm glad that hes recovering. Give him my best wishes!
  16. I figured I'd update this with some new pics. The only major changes to the truck conisist of an extra main leaf added to the pack for a little boost. I mainly wanted some weight capacity without any sag...which it was doing with my spares, tools, and gas. It works well now...and as you can see, flexes great! I managed to re-work the sheet metal on both sides of the truck, and pop the bead on 2 of my tires. Full-sized spare, and 12v air compressor FTW!! These were taken this past sunday (Nov. 18th) at the Rhode Island Off Highway Vehicle Association (RIOHVA) anual meeting/ride. I had the only MJ, and there were ~40 4x4s there and ~150 ATVs/Offroad Motorcycles.
  17. I hate Massachusetts. I can't wait to leave! This is not the only time somthing like his has happened here
  18. Problem with the $20 ones is that they can break really easily. I went through a couple different harbor freight/ jc whitney cheapos before buying a good one for about $125 I put TONS of pressure on the Advance unit. When I was trying to press out the bottome one, I thought it was stuck and kept tightening. At one point I had a 5" pipe on the end of my ratchet...and I could tighten NO more. My ratchet was starting to skip teeth (it's still not right after that)...but the press was good as new when I was done. It my cost a lot to begin with...but its WELL worth it to have a good tool to use that you know won't fail.
  19. do it! :D I'd have to find some place to hide it. :brows: We're already "overcrowded" 4 Jeeps 3 BMW's And her Chevy Lumina Plus 2 BMW's in storage out of state she doesn't even know about.... What about your big arse air plane? Or did you sell that?
  20. I rented a balljoint press from Advance auto. It had everything I needed. The only bad thing was that the rental fee was $157! The good news is that I got it ALL back, and I didnt have to pay for the part I broke. One thing that I messed up on, was the bottom joint is pressed in from the BOTTOM. Which is the oposite of the top, which is pressed in from the TOP. I wouldnt attempt to do ball joints w/o a good press kit!
  21. That is crazy awesome!
  22. Romney is my top pick.

    Beaterjeep...

    :( Get well soon beaterjeep.
  24. I completed this today. It came out quite well! Before... What we have here are 1 main leaf, 2nd main leaf, 3rd leaf, and 4th leaf and the overload leaf. All painted up! All assembled! ALL DONE! (bad pic I know). But what you see is where/when I assembled the rear of the MJ (In the rain  )
  25. If you're not running an SYE, I wouldnt use any shims. The pinion of the axle, and the output of the transfercase are supposed to be paralell. Shims will mess that up, and putt all the load on the top u-joint. I'm at 6" in the rear and don't use any shims. The new SOA spring perches are paralell with the SUA perches...which makes the axle have the same angle as before.
