to be honest with everyone from the mopar world, I think the hemi is sometimes overrated. don't get me wrong, unbelievable technology and power still awailable in the head design, but take a look at the classic 426. pure dog poop low end, crazy nuts for top power and speed. I would take a deisel for towing and driving over the gas, i've seen some pretty crazy things come out of a deisel build.

this could be one of the dumber things I will ask in my membership span, but would 300 ibft torque be enough to tow a flatbed with a car on???????????????????????? 4 cyl deisel makes me "leary"
  3. OH MY GOSH!!!! that's better then 3 legged dog race...
  4. I worked in a trailer repair shop, and I have seen some 2 inch thick bolts snap in half after being reused once. Can't remember the grade but I know they were super strong. I know it all depends on the stress of the bolt at the time of fracture, but retorquing certainly can't help the cause. i call upon the plastic baggy experiment. you pull it and stretch it once, no problem, twice no problem third time gets super tight, forth time snaps. I would think in an offroading situation it ouwld be a bad call to use it MANY times, a couple would do well. In a highway car, I would say probably okay, but definately woudln't risk the trial and error because of the high speeds
  5. hmmmm...family or Manche??? seems to be becoming the story of my life. I'm going to go ahead and say put it on a trailer and bring it with, then eveyone is happy
  6. after driving a 4 cyl yj with 33's, I actually liked the challenge of having a lack of power for obstacles, made the dunes n e way a lot more fun. extra power is always a plus though. not really sure what it would be like to wheel an MJ with little power... actually i don't really know what its like to wheel an mj at all, i've on done XJ. Should be a lot of fun next summer! Pete what's the good word on the DD?
  7. but your a sweetheart Pete, I would be the @$$ that would ask what was wrong and laugh and say "that sux", then continue about my business...that's just how ppl roll in my area though lol! just kidding, i'd elp if i knew how, or could lend a hand

  20. I read in my little handy dandy book though I bought, that is there is 8 inches and 35's you still have to trim a bit simply because of the wheel well geometry. But the trimming is suppose to be minamal. That's jsut what I have read though, I have never actually seen it up close yet. So if you don't mind trimming them go nuts. I just recenly bought an XJ wiht 36's super swampers with a 3 inch lift...lol you should see the hack job of cutting that has been done. I keep tryingto get pics up, but my camera stopped working

  22. That means u can build a serious stroker...lol here's a link to the topics and websites covered when I asked about it a few weeks ago http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/view ... 00&start=0
  23. AC is a ust even in the winter when you are as heavy as I am....Man i love the snow :D
  24. You can also stroke it for s much as it would cost to rebuild it (instead of buying a new one if this one craps out on you). Something to look at, great torque, great power and best of all, great mileage as far as higher horse power goes
