a 4.0 and an H.O. shoudl swap easily, but you have to change the computer wiht it. As for into a wrangler, I THINK the motor mounts stay in the same place but the trans bolts up differently. I've heard of ppl changing from a 4.2 to a 4, but I've never done it myself
WHy si your deadline 56 days? Something big planned? Everything looks good so far, and welcome to the site. I htink you'll find there are a lot of guys with a lot of knowledge always willign to help. Good luck with everything and keep us posted!!!
I heard rumour of some being in the Chicago area, suppose to be a bigger park (and hopefully a lot less crowded)
Where did you stay when you went up?
PLanning on going next year at all?
lol i'm working on it, my gf's parents are still up ther with the digital camera. I will get somne pics ASAP, but for now maybe pete can supply some to show everyone else what its like????
Pete do you know where the other sand dunes are in the michiganish area?
It's all about experimentaiton at this point. I'm going to find myself a nice peice of real estate and park ever MJ and XJ I can find on it. Then open up "The School of Kewl"....its almost too perfect....Wait, I guess you could just call that a Jeep Junkyard?
new bed right now, but if this becomes a parts donor, I think I would prolly go with a 91 or 92 instead. I guess it doesn'tmatter since I have the whole truck, everything would swap nice and easy (minus rusted bolts)
Would someone mind letting me know what Comanche's are most compatable with the others? Is it 88 with 87. 86 all by her lonesome? 89-92 trio? What works hte best with an 89er?
I really hope my 50 dollar manche's unibody and "frame" are still good. I checked but didn't get a super close look. if tey aren't, it may become a parts truck. but at least there are a ton of parts I can use off of it, and it was still dirt cheap
see i have only heard of ppl snapping with 33's while offroading, and beating it hard (i downshifted and burried the YJ to the frame rails while running in a bis azz sand box)
haven't heard of n e one snapping with 31's on or off road. I think it owuld be safe for onroad definately, offroad not really sure. I would think as long as you went easy you'd be okay
i just snapped a d35 with 4.10's and 33's this weekend
worst part was that it wasn't my jeep, it was my gf's. now I have to pay to fix it. my friend (also named alex) has been wheeling his xj with 4.10's and 31's for about 1 year now problem free, its lifted 8 inches
you can get rockers floorpans, doors, door panel, fenders, hood, and many other misc parts threw shermanparts.com, just have to find a dealer in your area if you are in need of something. thanks for the next site. I added it to my favourite :brows:
i thought the fender would work, and tailgate too. not the hood and front grille assy, this is on speculation and from what i think i've read. haven't seen it for myself
also have no experience with rusty's but from word of mouth I've heard a whole hell of a lot more bad then I do good. I trusted the opinions of the guys on here in stayed away from Ol'Rusty. He lives in a poop factory for a shop i guess
