Is the rubbing a problem with the height/ diameter, or are they rubbing on the inside against the frame and LCA and stuff like that? I don't think i'm too worried about it for 50 buck$

by full carrier you mean arb and detroit?? or the others you mentioned? I had planned on going ARB, it seems like a pretty awesome setup, plus I can run an airline off of the onboard air compressor used to power it in gear? Safe assumption? -
it looks almost liek fresh paint and everything. Looks great and congrats. hopefully mine will turn out nice like that when I get read for paint.

Had a great trip, seen an absolutally awesome comanche ridingt he dunes up there, best part was that it was a group of 4 gals running it up the hills. No injuries, all went well. Destroyed a YJ rear end, and watched a few puke goats expload going up the hill. pics soon, need to wait for them to come back

i don't think i would ever have the guts to try and run near sharp rocks...I mean i would run them if I as with the club group...but on my own little excursions here in ontario definately not. Don't have the kind of money to spend on new tires. hopefully I get lucky on the trails and keep my tires safe :brows:

sinnaevd replied to GirsMJ86's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs

I plan on to get the body in paint..probably about a month (box excluded cuz I might eng up buying one and going from there, still not sure yet.) -
3" rough country lift and tires?
sinnaevd replied to GirsMJ86's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
yeah I was just reading up a little bit more on them, and a few sites I've found say there sidewal is thicker then the BFG. Deinfatly a confidence booster. everyone i've talked to absolutally loves them...I just flat out love the look. i'm thinking they are the way to go but i am a ways away from them jsut yet. need to do body work first l  -
i've heard nothing but good things for the BFG tires, they seem to be a crowd favourite. I just really like the TrXus, lol Major price difference between the two? (brand new that is)

3" rough country lift and tires?
sinnaevd replied to GirsMJ86's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
go with TrXus, i absolutaly ove that tire, but I have to mention that i've heard the sidewall is weaker then soem of the other tires out there. -
Wondering what you guys would pay for 33's? Also what are some tried and true brands that work? I was goign to go TrXus, but they have been apparently rumoured to have very weak sidewalls...so I don't wna tto buy them brand new and only last a little while. I don't really plan on rock crawling (maybe just a lil but nothin serious) mostly just trail driving and mudding, sand whereever I can find it. give me some suggestions and why if you like. Thanks for everything everyone!

peteif your also looking for something canada side check jeepkings.ca most of the ppl selling stuff are about 4 hours from you coming through windsor. there are a ton of tires and stuff flying through there, usually for around 300 for a set of 4. i believe there is a set of 33's rite now for about 400. i didn't see u regidstered for that one so I don't knwo if you knew about it or not. No good for tech and getting help, great for buying stuff most of the time

iI was trying to find as much information on Comanche's as I could when I seen my first one when I was cruising through a local junk yard. A lot of my friends were into Jeeps already, so naturally I was getting there too. I drove my gf dad's YJ for a bit and loved it, then met my good friend Alex, and his lifted XJ...so from there the Jeep obsession began. Combined witht he fact that I couldn't stop thinking about an MJ, and the other fact that I love offroading and wanted to build my own, I choose the MJ. I finally got one a little while ago, and can't wait to start my next build. I cou ldn't find this website actually. I was searching every place I could find for information on MJ, and eventually gave up and was going to build a site of my own. That's when soeone on one of the other forums I was on linked me to this one, which he got off of NAXJA. After a lot of you guys helped me with a lot of my questions, I was hooked and can't stop posting, reading, and learning. Thanks to everyone!!!

looks excellent, nice job on the fender trimming

I absolutally love the book, it has really helped to answer a lot of the questions i still had. but then again, i have had no experience with any of this stuff til about 4 months ago, so for someone who has been playing with jeeps for a while it might seem not worth it. I would still recommend it to anyone, they just might not benefit from it as much as I have. I love it, i've read all of it in 2 days now

the XJ builders guide books are finally available. I just got mine after a little shipping trouble. The book is fantastic (especially the spread on Pete's MJ lol!) I would definately recommend it to anyone who has just started to get into offroading with an XJ or MJ. Very thorough IMHO
