I've heard nothing but bad things from Rough Country...Apparently they are all over themap for whether or not the kits hold up, And i've heard a lot of people say they don't give the lift advertised, or the back sits lower then the front. Now I have also been informed that they have changed there product recently, but I'd wait for more opinions. You can also find them cheaper then 335, I've seen them for 270...just can't emember where. I will try to get back to you on it.

no no I'm talking about the picture it says Code: / and that's all that is there for me

I have the D44 for the rear already with 4.10's, that's why OI wasn't worried about the D35, I had already been told about the poop d35. Hopefully a junkyard will have a GW. Do the 44's come stop on all of them?? or Will I definatately have to shop around?? I was going to go with a cherokee to get the auto to bolt up to my 4.0 HO. will the GW auto do the same if I can find one?? I need the whole vehivle to do the 4x4 conversion....or will I just make my yard a mess in the process and buy al lkinds of jeeps??? .....I'm gonna go with option B i think LOL!!
-
I hope this doesn't come across as being arrogant cuz i'm trying not to be What are the advantages to those?? Are they crazy amazing or summin??
-
is a grand wagoneer difficult to find? I don't think I could find one for parts could I?
-
i know it is available off of cartechbooks.com, but it is more expensive so I copped out and went for amazon. those were the only paces I found it.
-
Hey Pete, do you know when it will be released??? It endedup costing me like 17 bucks or sumthin, but I'm not sure how much longer I will have to wait befor they send it.
-
so buy running 33's I run a risk of blowing up my front driveshaft??? what other axle should I be looking at in order to prevent this problem. Haven't done the swap yet so this could really help
-
LOL!!! I am in over my head fella's  ......and I love it!! I ordered that XJ builders guide thingy that Pete's MJ is in. That will be a big help as well?? and jage, your link didn't work is that's what you were trying to add, so when you get a moment would u mind fixing so i can look?
-
do you usually get new mounts when you buy a kit, or do you have to make them? BTW, thanks to everyone, you guys are an enourmous help. I tried to get help off another website that I am registered to, but a lot of the people there are kind of buttheads if you are new to jeeps and have a lot of questions.

I'd love to make a day trip over there, that means your only about 30 mins from me. I could even pop by work one day. I'll let you know when I can make it over for sure, then you can tell me what day works best for you. Building a garage this next month so will be pretty busy.
-
lol, I read those pages. Does look pretty sweet. Maybe one day I could do the same. Is that book still purchaseable?? Or still on back order?? Where across the border??

MJADDICATION mentioned checking out claytons, or TNT (which i can't find TNT by the way) for there long arm kits. They can offer a 6.5 inch long arm lift kit (claytons). I'm just still not sure about how I want to lift it. No one in the windsor area really runs MJ's, let alone Jeeps period. Kinda hard to figure out on my own. Is there any good books I could buy on the subject?
-
So basically use a front end kit for an XJ and build ride height to match in the rearend?? It's all starting to make sense now lol!. SO I can use a long arm kit in the front and try to shoot for 6 inches of lift, then I should be able to do rusty's 4" springs in the back and then spring over to match it? I know it will be a little off, but I don't think it would matter much since I will be using an SYE. I'm going on the assumption that when buying a long arm kit, nothing special come for the rear for the MJ Do I have other options? Maybe different spring pack?
-
so where can I find a good kit?? Or is the better question, how the hell do I "build" a kit LOL!
-
Alrightly fella's, I'm being told that buying from Rusty's is a big NO NO. I really want to buy just one kit though and not have to do much modding. I wanted the long arm kit for its superior flex. But if there has been some problems with Rusty's stuff (other then customer service) it makes me kind of nervous. I want at least 6 inches of lift, I want to put 33's under the MJ with basically no trimming (if possible, I'm also being told it will never happen LOL) What kit should I be looking at?? I thought I had it all figured out but I'm starting to doubt myself. Please help, websites, info on what I should be looking at, ANYTHING!!!!

That was the plan in the first place, I'm building one for a trail vehicle, then I will eventually build one for a daily driver, but that will take some time to do, as I will do everything extremely proper. But never the less, I want a vehicle that is still safe, and it must pass a safety befor I can put it on the road, so that way I will only have to trailer it to larger events....like possibly t he badlands one day when everyone goes up.
-
yes the definately do! THANKS! now I ponder, would the XJ full skin work with a little trimming? I thought they were stamped the same minus the 90ish bend for the truck box.
-
alrite seems like I am running the same questions on two different threads lol So which would you guys prefer? I want 33's on my trail rig. I was thinking the 4.56's because I can still drive it on the road, but I wasn't planning on highay driving n e way so i don't think it would be that big of an issue. Smart decision? Or would the 4.10 that's in the rear the job so that way I can just put a 4.10 in the front when I do 4X4 conversion? Then buy a set of 4.56's down the road. My heart is definately set on 33's
-
Where thehell are people getting the comanche quarter panels? (rear fenders) I know they are out there because I have talked to body shops and they say they are available but "can't" release who their supplier is. It's driving me nuts, I thought some of you guys (or girls) would know where you can get them from..
-
now what do you guys mean when you say the 4.56's would be nicer?? I am still new, but learning as much as I can fast as I can. Is it a feel, or just more power at the wheels? I still want to drive th elifted MJ on the road every once and a while, that's why I was going to go back to the stock feel. But this 4.56 dealy sounds extremely tempting...
-
with 33's, I was told the 4.10's brought me back to just about stock gearing? is that correct??
-
would 4.56's be better with 33's?
-
well let me know because that is what my friend alex is running under hisw iith his lift kit, and he says he loves it. great mileage, almost same as stock. i think he is on 33's.
-
I have a D44 with 4.10's in my MJ 2X4. That means that when I grab the XJ to do the 4x4 swap, I will just have to buy one set of 4.10's and install them on the front axle correct? Also what front axle would be best?? not looking to really rock crawl a whole bunch, but possible some. MOstly mudding.
