  1. My GF"s dad has a YJ with a 4 cyl in it and it was dog poop on the highway. Now we were driving it with a lift and on...i think 31's or his 33's but I was extreamly bitter with the gas mileage and the fact that we couldn't go over a 100 km/h (don't remember mi/h conversion). Now I know that the lift any everything makes a huge difference, but still, If I wanted to lift this DD and Jam some 31's underneath, I would still like to be able to drive. My friend alex's XJ has 35's and about 5 or 6 inches of lift and he is getting pretty much the same mileage he was getting stock, a little less, but not too bad. It took him a while to figure out the gearing though.
  2. I was just wondering, I heard that the comanche unibody/frame were usually pretty decent unless someone really abused it. My question is, where should I be looking on my Manche to see if the frame/unibody is still good? I'm goign to get it sandblasted, but would be kind of pointless if it was badly damaged. PLEASE HELP
  3. I live in windsor, which is directly south of detroit. I am basically as american as a canadian can get because there is a huge american influence over here. I drive like a little sissy with my DD that I have now, keep in mind that it is a 3cyl pontiac firefly and even if I did beat on it it wouldn't make a difference. I just really love trucks. when it came to offorading, i fell in love...more of like a stalker kind of love i guess...with the MJ. and now that I have found this website and seem some other rigs, its getting worse. But i want an mj for a daily driver, and i think the long box looks good. hwere can i find this Renix? what year/model comanche?
  4. First off, does anyone know of safari style doors for an MJ/XJ? I want some for my rig. Next, I am buying an MJ long box for a parts vehicle...but on second though i think I might restore it, army style paint it, and use it as a DD, and get another MJ as a daly driver. Is the 6 cyl, 5 spd manual combo worth it gas wise? keep in mind I live in Canada and gas is even more expensive over here then in the states. Thanks. Dan
  5. Thanks guys, I will toss the Catia drawing on here for you guys to get an idea as to whats in my brain.
  6. crosscanadaparts.com has floor pans listed for the MJ, picture to show what they look like, canadian dollar for all you americans out there. not sure if it is what your looking for but i thought it was worth mentioning.
  7. I want to design/build a custom bumper for a comanche (which I am assuming will fit the front of an XJ as well), but I don't have the measurements. does anyone have them, or now a website I can get the front frame dimensions from?? Thanks for the help

    Newbie

Hey there, New to offorading and new to Jeeps, but going with a comanche because I am obsessed with them. Saw one in a junk yard when looking for parts for my charger and fell in love. Just though I'd say hello. Will be redoing a comanche soon, will kepp everyone posted on the mods I want to do. I have a few questions so hopefully someone can answer them for me.
