  1. nothing special. all oils and fluids changed today. re-painted the rear diff cover to better match the new paint job and re-installed the radio. its nice to have tunes again. then to top if all off i re-tightened a s###load of bolts. no more pass side long arm rattle!
  2. looks good. i did notice the rear wheel spacing as well but if you lift the rear more then your going to have to lift the front to level it out. how much higher can you go up front? i forget what your at now. as far as the vibes, did you put in the rear pinion shims yet? also how much of your rear shaft on the slip end is out of the tcase. no quite sure but i think if its around an inch your fine.
  3. thanks for the pics. i like it. it just doesnt have that "wow" factor to it but its a decent look. i will say the red lettering was a miss step but the green and silver are fine with me
  4. id like to see a couple daylight pics if you got them

  11. some good pics for sure. i saw a go pro in one or two. where's the vids!
  12. grab a screwdriver and go fix it when hes not around. see how long it takes him to notice
  13. why not do the disc brake conversion instead? i liked the idea of the bed armor. what was the reasoning behind it? and what do you "do" since he was a customer. if you don't mind my asking
  14. my 8.25 SOA lift works just fine with a stock rear shaft. havent had one issue with it. the front is about maxed out though like you said earlier. id look at it from a cost point of view. will the SYE and new shaft cost more then just having new perches welded in the correct spot or vice versa. i think we all know the answer but its your call on what you do.
  15. throw on those stock 4wd leafs. depending on sag itll make it sit almost even or a tad higher in the rear. also ive never had an issue with either the RK 4.5 bar or the 6.5 bar. i was at 4.5 with the 4.5 bar and now 6.5 with the 6.5 bar. both worked as they should. i could of went with the 4.5 bar on the 6.5 lift but that would of put me right at the end of the heim threads... i don't think so. so i got the new 6.5-8 one.
  16. looking good :chillin:
  17. having a grill on upside down is the one thing that gets me everytime with XJ/MJs. its not that hard to notice its on wrong but then again most people could care less in the first place... hell ive went as far as fixing it for someone and then when i met them, they didnt even notice or care. i got the "oh i just drive it. i don't care what it looks like" response

    finally got mine!

thats pretty cool ^^^^ good to see so many of you guys into it as well. a few grumman owners too . ill have to post up pics as i go out in it more. i power washed it since it was under a tree and had water stains in it a little bit and man, it looks tons better. still need to clean the aluminum with a cleaner though. I'm about to head out for paddles, life jackets and seats with the backs here soon. ive got to say, so far its looking like thats the best 300 bucks i ever spent!

    finally got mine!

it finally happened. ive searched for one of these months and months. everytime i found one it was either beat down, over priced or bought before i had a chance. let me introduce my "new" grumman aluminum 17 footer canoe! anybody here into it? or even kayaking? I'm pumped to get going. ill probably take it out to work this week and hit up a few lakes just to get it out there for a shake down run
  23. i can agree with you on the NOS thing. i was that way when i was into kramer guitars. however half a grand for tail lights is a bit much. like you said though if they want it bad enough who cares the price. i still think its pretty ridiculous though even for NOS lights. then again my MJ is a trail rig not a beauty queen. oh and i can afford it if i wanted to, so my negative comment sticks  Your comment sticks? Give me a break. And jello nails to a wall too right? We are talking about an auction on new parts for a limited production truck. There won't be too many remaining oportunities. I didnt buy the lights because I already had a NOS set but you can bet if I needed them, I would have bought them myself. I wouldnt have cared how much they cost. I can't understand how anyone can make a broad statement on the value of something. People on this forum will spend thousands on hacking their trucks. I wouldnt spend $20 to do that. On the other hand, I spent quite a bit to restore mine. Many people wouldnt have done that either. Does that make me "Stupid"? The value of anything is measured by what someone is willing to pay for it. I spent $130 on a NOS cargo light and switch that I will never install..but just in case. yup sticks because i can afford them if i wanted is what i was referring too. he said if you can't, don't say anything. plus people can make broad statements like that because they are opinions. just like a$$holes, everybody has one. just seems mine arent what most think. so be it. paying that much for lights, even though they are "rare" still isnt worth it to me. sure maybe if i bought an MJ to baby it but i didnt. so i wouldnt pay that. so i still say its stupid ridiculous. i completely agreed earlier about NOS parts and people paying for them because its what they want no matter the price. i can understand that. so it just boils down to my opinion vs. yours, his and whoever else would pay that amount. we'll never agree on those lights at this point in time. i mean with that 560 dollars you could buy a lot more used lights, polish, buff, clean, shine and have exactly the same thing but multiple. sure its not NOS but they'll look pretty freaking close.
