The URL link shows the CMC in columbia and the other is in Lexington like the addy says. Those are the only 2 i know of because its the closest u-pull to me that i have found. CMC is really a huge scrap company so make sure the one at beech Island is a U-pull junk yard and not a scrap metal yard which could also be handy. :brows: They have a mian website for the CMC company also if you Yahoo it. I don't knwo about the rubber bumper (i never had one) but the spring should have been there. Go to a Hardware store and pick one up. The one on the clutch peddle is to help in its return and make sure its all the way up. Cole

NP i needed the info as well so i figured i could search for you. I have learned a few tricks to searching on here so i can usally find stuff quick. You need to search for post with the Author if you know who it might be. In this case It made it somewhat easy. Now with JeepcoMJ He has ALOT of post per day so his posts can be hard to search thru. Just an idea for you. Cole

Found it For you its in the last paragraph. Hope this helps. Cole

Useful link for finding local yards for some of you. Thought i would post this for others to use. Some yards arent registered so there may be a few from each state missing but its a good starter for those in need. http://www.junkyarddog.com/listings.htm Cole

Didnt get to grab those places info from work today but i will tomm. As far as Richmond goes Columbia is about 2 hours from Spartanburg so thats not to much further from G-ville for you. The 1987 MJ i have the top of the air box if you want it. I had to eliminate min completely. How close are you to Mountain Home exit off 26 or maybe the airport?? I could meet you on the way to brevard with the air cleaner box top FOR FREE. I will get locations for you guys ASAP. Cole

Mine were rusted BAD but only one had to be drilled out with a 1/4 drill bit. Others just took a few licks with the ole BFH. My 3 lb sledge was great for it and i didnt break my hinges off. Cole

Thanks just trying to not get forgoten. Also Do all XJs with a 4.0 and AW4 have a CV style driveshaft in the front?? I need a double cardon in mine but i might be able to adapt it to work but it will take some cutting. Thanks Cole

I know of a few. I will have to get my list and i can post the ones i can think of. I'm originally from brevard and have alot of extra parts. What are you looking for?? I may have it and ill be up that way Sat. Let me know and ill post some that i know of later. But off the top of my head theres 2 in columbia SC that i could try to grab some parts for you from. Plus Greenville SC Has one IIRC that was good. And i had heard of a Jeep junkyard near G-ville also. Let me check some stuff out for you. Cole

No messurements yet?? Looking to start working on getting this done. Cole

I did and yes its a roll pin. I found some at lowes or a carquest shop. Any hardware place should carry the right size. Cole

TBI or MPI??? Take some pics and we can tell you what it is. Cole

Well that changes it all. Now that i got the story i see your looking to go huge not stay small. Fullwidths also change the tune on things. If you have 10 up front the rear may only need 2" or clsoe to that. I think with 4 you will have a shovel nose. My preference is to have the front 1" or so higher than the rear. I like the look plus you aproach angle id a little better. I will assume you are going hardcore offroading so flex with be an issue for rocks. With the rustys 4" it may hurt alittle on flex but with the tire your prob. gonna run you will offset that by alittle with the added wieght of those and the axles have a better pivot further out. I am sure rustys carried a 3 as well but i havent been on there in awhile. Another consideration is axle wrap you might need stifer springs to help kill it down. I am not sure if a full length AAL for a 2" lift and then maybe a 3/4" shackle lift wouldnt be a bad option. you will obtain the added stiffness and the shackle lift will help out some with flex for those big tires and axles. A longer shackle can be a good asset for a huge lift cause mine with 7"s come close to maxing out at full flex on a ramp so who knows on a ditch or somehting where opisite tires are up. you may need them a touch longer but maybe not the 1.5"s it would take for the 3/4 lift. Just throwing some options. Maybe Motion offroad or one of the less known vendors have a 3" pack we are forgetting?? Good luck I would like to see the build thread for your rig if you get a chance also. Cole

Street Trucks. Handling, braking, etc..

Some kinda IFS from a FWD or AWD that wis strong would be really nice. If it was me I would go rotary engine with all the goodies and then throw what i could to make it a curd hugger. I am facinated abotu rotaries and i think they are great choices for preformance in a light package. I also like a diesel (4Blt cummins) with added goodies for the torque aspect. These are my dream engines for my rig but i think for a street runner they would make a nice sleeper. I would also run a SWB for a better turning radius and have the COG as low as i could with a air ride suspension that i could tune to get it perfect. The AWD idea i love after driving my cousins Suby around. it seems to have the best of both. The launch of rear and the control thru turns of a front without spiining tires. once the start sqealling they arent taking you down the road. The more torqu the happier i am though but these are crazy ideas i have had that i thought i would share. MAybe they are crazy talk but maybe one day.... Cole -
A custom pack would be best if you have the dough. They can build them so that they ride really nice by using a different spring rate than stock plus that will help flex. If you use thinner leaves it helps with the flex alot. You could possibly find some old leaves from a different truck or SUV that would provde lift when added to your stock pack. I added 2 from an unknown source to help me out with spring rate (thinner) and it seemed to do good. I don't know if you could get 3"s from the JY choice but it would be cheaper. What tires you going up to?? Have you done the numbers to make sure that is the total REAR lift needed?? Not trying to be an A** just trying to see if you might come out ahead with a lower REAR lift and minor trimming if that was an option. Customs are not cheap but they would be your best bet for optimum ride and preformance but some can deal with a ruff ride. The lift springs will be a greater arch and stiffer ride. Again just laying it all out for you to make the best decision. ANd one lst idea might be SOA and a flatter spring pack form a different vehicle. Maybe a stock YJ but I'm not sure of the length and all matching. Hope you get an idea or solution that is good for your MJ. Cole

Dirty I bet that turned out ruff at first. I considered the inners fender removal but i think a BFH can bend it enough to not cause issues. Mine don't hit right now with about 7.5"s and 35s but i am on short arms till i can raise the funds to build my longarm. Let me know what ends up with the inners cause i think they will be an issue when i get the arms built. Nice looking so far. Also have you considered TJ flares or are you wanting the stock appearance. You prob said earlier but i just read the last post so sorry if you thought of it. Nice job on the move though. Cole

Well I have a 2.5 AX-5 with a non CV t-case(not sure exact number) if that matters. I am not sure how a CV one bolts up but mine is a double cardon joint. Thanks guys. Cole

I kinda think its both. First the spottedr didnt focus on the situation cause he ran the guy into the side of the rock. Then to follow up he retracted his directions and frantically pointed the other way. TO late for that but the kicker is that the driver never lifted the gas until it was way to late :dunno: just my 2c worth. Cole
