It did the last time that I was driving it regularly, but that was year before last. It has been parked and stored while I've been redoing the interior. As soon as I can get it driveable I will take it to the shop and dive into it a little deeper.

put the old cluster in and did the same thing. Did some testing and I believe that the sending unit has gone bad.

Upon further testing, I can manually move the needle to empty and turn the ignition on and the needle goes slowly to full and stays there even if the ignition is turned off

everything seems to be working but my gas gauge. I get no movement in the needle when turning on the ignition. Any thoughts?

I also have the speedo cable from the 87. Can it be swapped as well?

I have a cluster with tach from an 87 with a 4.0. Can it be swapped into and 86 with a 2.5?

WOW! That's some seriously strict inspections! I guess Canada wants everything to be pretty! We have inspections in North Carolina but it is just a safety inspection and emissions in some county's

Let me know what you have and are willing to part with. I need pass a post trim, kick panels, inside trim along threashold, female seat buckles, screw trim plugs, arm rests, sunvisor clip, and who knows what else I might need or might buy just to have it.
